So I just bought a 70th Anniversary C8 yesterday, and I am looking for suggestions or advice on the care and cleaning of all the micro suede that's in the interior. That suede is EVERYWHERE except the seats. It's been suggested i can use dawn dish soap diluted. Any suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks.
I use Pinnacle alcantara cleaner. Light spray on a microfiber cloth.
Dish soap will dry out leather. For leather I use a slightly damp (distilled water) microfiber cloth for light cleaning.
Lexol leather cleaner followed by Lexol leather conditioner for heavier cleaning. For leather that's prone to shrinking and hardening I use Leatherique oil.
I'm sure you'll get hundreds of recommendations and counter recommendations.
The suede you are referring to is called alcantara, it is not unique to the 70th….the Pinnacle alcantara cleaner Adamk47 is referring to is for that….
In my opinion, I would only mess with it if it was dirty and needed it otherwise leave it alone. Also be careful about cleaning the leather seats and what you use.
FWIW... don't use "home" DIY chemicals.
Buy a specialty kit... brush/ chemical.
Maybe the best advice is to not let it get too dirty in the first place...
air blow, vacuum, and brush often.
Plus take care that windshield cleaners do not contact the suede.
