I think you may be very confused about what a daily driver is.
Easy, in fact a bit more miles/year than my prior 2020 C8 Z51, 2017 Grand Sport or 2014 C7 Z51! ALL DDs! Yep particularly the 2017 C7 Grand Sport with its 335 rear tires was no fun to drive in heavy rain, rear end would step out with modest acceleration in a turn on a wet road. I used my wife's SUV if raining or if even chance of heavy rain! I no longer use my wife's AWD BMW when raining or going into town with threat of late afternoon thunderstorms we get often in summer on NE SC! I use the AWD E-Ray that handles great even in heavy rain.

Been retired since 2000 when I built my Street Rod. the only other car in our garage in addition to the Vette and my wife's car. The street rod mostly goes to Car Shows so only have the Corvette to drive. I do have a fun, part time Internet business that pays for my new Vettes and is fun but no need to use to travel to work! We live ~30/35 miles from town (depending where) in a rural area. Most of my driving is back rural roads to town several times a week. Many stretches with farm fields, no homes, people and often no cars where I can and so drive pretty aggressively and safely. Great fun.

Even my 1st 3 Vettes, I had when working full time, I traveled often each week by air. Local regional airport is ~10 miles from our home. Could take the 5:30 AM to Charlotte, make a meeting near the Chicago airport and come home on the 11:PM flight! Parked my Vettes, with car cover, at the airport (when we lived in Western CT prior to moving South in 1985 would not park a Vette at LaGuardia!) So never put on many miles on those 3 Vettes starting with my 1st a 1988.

When traveling with my wife, wherever close or far, always use her Car (although usually fly if any distance.) Her last 6 have been SUVs, the latest a 2025 is a PHEV BMW X5 SUV. That is her 4th BMW, preceded by a Porsche Cayenne. Frankly on an Interstate far prefer sitting up high, going over the many 18 wheeler tire treads in the road and seldom having a radar detector beeping from a Trooper going the other way hitting their instant on! I don't use the Interstate with the Vettes.

And example of my Trip to town and back is this section with a 90 degree turn with no homes, people often no other cars. Can have fun making a high "g" turn. This pic was made with my 2020 C8 Z51 but make the same turn with the E-Ray. After the apex can apply more throttle sooner and Torque Vectoring pulls the front around! Great safe fun!

Daily mine. My new commute is only 10-12 miles vs my old one, which was 70 miles round trip. I also park in a "special" place in my parking garage that allows me ample space to get in and out of the drivers door.

While I do use my C8 quite a bit, I just got this Honda Civic Hybrid Sport Touring to ease the pain a bit at the pumps. Actually a very peppy car with a very interesting and unique Hybrid drive system. And the best part, same color as my C8!

2024 2LT, 9 months of living in New Mexico after coming from San Diego upon delivery. Ghosted out model took a while to find but well worth the wait. I thought I might sell it after the 3/36 expires this December but it's a keeper especially with the Extended Warranty and our mild climate.

My one and only vehicle, just crossed 3 months at 1719 miles (1710 of them are mine). I don't commute to work, so here I am at the gym:

^^^ Nice. Sold my '22 Z4 M40 to get my E HTC. It is a great car with lots of power, but not in the same league (performance or cost) as my E (or maybe even a SR Z51). The brakes aren't up to having too much extended fun in the mountains of N GA/TN/NC. But, love the pops and bangs and that B58 is magic...

I have a 26 Eray as well. Very different but not less enjoyable. The B58 and the tuned exhaust note is really a stand out. I like the transmission mapping much better in the BMW.

It doesn’t draw attention anywhere close to what my eray does.

You asked me to explain how it's possible to have aa DD and only put on 7500 miles in two years. Sorry the answer could not be stated in 240 characters I understand all some can digest.

You asked I gave a clear, although loner than you like, answer!

You suggested I did not understand what a DD is! Sorry I do. For example EVERY DD since my '41 Coupe Hot Rod I stuffed in an Olds engine when in high school in 1959 had been a standard shift until I bought my 2020 C8! Never had a slushbox automatic as a DD!

@JerryU DD stands for daily driver, or driven daily ( less than 40 characters )

Recently passed 33k miles. I have a Model 3 now I drive most days but still put 7k miles on it last year doing road trips.

It was a great daily driver minus trying to buy anything square boxed to get home lol.

Yep well aware for more that the 67 years I have been driving! BUT what was said. i'll quote and provide a Pic as quick scan is worth 1000 words!
Nope not confused and answered how my E-Ray is a DD!

I think you may be very confused about what a daily driver is.

No room in the garage for another vehicle so yep my DD is my E-Ray, as was my:
  • 2020 C8 Z51
  • 2017 C7 Grand Sport,
  • 2014 C7 Z51
  • 2008 C6 Z51
  • 1993 40th Anniversary C4
  • 1988 my 1st Vette

No Room for another car in the Garage! Built Street Rod in 2000 when I Retired. With it's set back 8.2.Liter BB in tubbed chassis with 420 section width Mickey Thompsons, as geared gets ~ 5 mpg, only goes to car shows. At $4.50/gallon for gas not a viable DD!
