what if GM knocks it out of the park and gives us a beautiful c8 at a great price....and we start seeing them everywhere. What if they become a common sight? .
Oh dang! I live in a house, but this is so commonplace that I may need to give it up to live on the street, so I don't just look like everyone else.
^^^My thoughts exactly. How would this be any different than what already happened with the C6 and C7??
It happens with every hot new car.... the car releases and it's amazing and special and you have to have it. Then a few years later you don't turn your head at 20 of them sitting outside the local dealer covered in dirt and pollen. The C8, one day, will just sit on dealer lots like it's no big deal.
Are you implying a 10 to 12 year loan is needed for a $65K to $70K car? Because that's what the base C8 will likely cost.
To some? Absolutely. Chrysler makes a killing off selling cars to people who probably can;t afford them except with long terms. The boat industry already defaults to 15 year, we had no choice in term when we bought our pontoon, they told us to simply pay it off faster if we wanted.
Oh, and my comment on the original question: Corvettes are already fairly ubiquitous. No biggie.

Yeah sure Dude, tell a guy that just paid $150,000 for a Corvette that they are a dime a dozen. Really a stupid statement to make on a Corvette forum.
I'll tell him straight to his face that 95% of the public, if not more, can't tell the difference between that and the $59k base model, and think no differently of his.

Dude, they are everywhere. Corvettes are not anywhere close to a rare car. Now, a ZR1 is obviously different and is not what is being discussed. The discussion is about C8 in general, I shouldn't have to explain this to you but it is not surprising.
I'm in the who cares if they're everywhere camp. I don't measure how much I like a car based upon how rare they are. I'm amazed people actually get ego gratification out of just having something rare.

Who said Corvettes are rare?
Corvettes are popular for a multitude of good reasons and are hardly "a dime a dozen" as you seem to think. This is a very dickish thing to say to Corvette owners on their #1 entusiasts site.
Here in the Northeast USA, Corvettes are very unpopular. I go days, sometimes a week or two without seeing one. SUV’s everywhere, but few Corvettes. I’m not worried about being perceived as driving a “dime a dozen” automobile.
Today's manufacturing job situation in America may be a tad different than most think it is.
