Default Large vs small ordering...

#60 on one of the top 5 dealerships, #2 at small local dealership (of three allocations in first 3 months).
Price will be cheaper from local dealership (both MSRP, local dealership has lower doc fees and don't have to pay for courtesy delivery or shipping).

The stingray will be just a temporary car, so I'm going 1LT which puts me in the November ordering period. I'm #1 on the Z06 at the same large dealership and that's the one I want to keep.

Should I expect to get the car around the same time with either dealership?
Is there any reason to pay more for a dealership that's >700 miles from me just because they have significantly higher allocation?

If they get allocations #2&3 before November, you get passed over to those in line with orders without constraints. Then what? It's also entirely possible that there are going to be other constraints when ordering actually opens up Sept 12.

#60 out of how many?

Lots of variables and unknowns.

Stay with your local small dealership.

I don't know the allocations for the large dealer but they are >500. I was told I'd likely have allocation in the first month when I got on the waiting list years ago.

I've got a call in to the small dealer to see how this would work, I should receive a call back today. I expect a call from the large dealer any day now and am not sure how to respond yet. I definitely don't want to get passed up by the small dealer and then left without allocation when November rolls around.

Thanks for the feedback.

It would be an easy choice for me. I'd go with the 60 out of 500+. No risk there. Either do a courtesy delivery or pick it up at the selling dealer and take a nice road trip home. I'd go for the road trip.

Confirmation for me was a little slow. Got in on he second run for this dealer. I am guessing they are medium?

Hi there -

If you are receiving this email, then congratulations! You are in group two on the xxxxxx Chevrolet C8 Corvette order list! This means your deposit is numbered 61 through 120. Some of you I know well, some of you are first time buyers with xxxxxx, and some of you are brand new to the Chevrolet brand. I am proud to welcome you to the xxxxxxx Chevrolet family and I assure you everybody on my team shares your excitement for the upcoming release!

In order to make things go as smoothly as possible, I wanted to let you know the process.

Please contact myself or your salesperson in order to schedule a build appointment. These can be via phone or email as desired. We ask that you schedule the build in order to make sure we are able to help you as efficiently as possible. Plan on 20-30 minutes to go over all of the options. Ideally, this should happen before the middle of October, but if you are a little behind this won't necessarily affect your place in line. Within GM time constraints, when you put in your build has no bearing on your place in line! The only thing that can affect that is if you select items that may be on constraint or delayed release (this is determined by GM - we will share what we know, when we know it). A few of you have already shared builds, but we still want to go over them one more time before we place them with GM.

Some notes:

* You are absolutely invited to come visit us and check out the C8 in person on Friday, xxxxxxxx. I will be here, as will the sales staff and a few people from Chevrolet, happy to answer your questions.

* Please don't hesitate to reach out to myself or any of the sales staff at any time. On that same note, I must also point out that I have a very small sales team and they are all doing their best to keep up with the overwhelming demand while still running a full line car dealership. Each salesperson on my team gets an average of 300-500 unique customer inquiries per month - so if they're slow to respond it is not because they don't care!

Thanks on behalf of Ray, Ian, Mike, Chris, David, Peter, Al, Mariah, and the entire xxxxxxx Team!

Yeah, I think it will be. Spoke with the local dealer today and he doesn't know when his 3 allocations will come in... could be all in September, could be one/month, etc. He'll have to order for inventory if he can't fill it with what is sold that month (eating into his allocations). So yeah, I'd be lucky if I was able to to get what I want with the allocations he has. The only alternative would be to jump up to a 2LT. Looks like I'll be spending several hundred more and going with my initial (large) dealer.
