Default PPF Cost

My local PPF guy is quoting me $1200.00 for the front bumper & headlights. That sounds high. The same shop did my C7 in 2014 for about half that. What sort of pricing are other people getting? Am I getting ripped off?

I don't have the answer as I got considerably more coverage. But I will say that my installer showed me just how intricate and difficult the front clip was to cover. Lots of pieces. I suggest you also ask whether he removes and re-installs the hood ornament. That said, the price is higher than I would have guessed.

I was quoted $2600 for the ‘front facing surfaces’ (forget what they said that was) but I *believe* it is the bumper, hood, and A pillars.

I feel like the price has more to do with all the nooks and crannies they have to apply it to rather than surface area. For example I assume the hood would be cheaper than the front bumper but that’s just my guess. I wouldn’t say it’s *unreasonable* price but others may have better info

I'm just starting to get quotes now. The first one I got was "Partial Front End Package": front bumper, partial hood; partial front fenders & mirrors = $1,700.
Well known installer; very good reputation. Hardest part for me is determining what is best or essential areas to protect, because a lot of the cost, given one is dealing with high quality installers, is the amount of PPF coverage on the C8.

You must also factor in the brand and warranty of the PPF. Not all of them are created equal and neither is the warranty coverage, if you ever move, you’ll want to make sure it has a national warranty. The c8 shouldn’t be any more difficult than a c7. There are a few more curves but the timeframe and material cost should be almost identical.

Front bumper is very complex, all those black parts, and as other said many pieces. Hood is easiest of all. Full front with full mirrors and lower side skirts, inside foot boards and windshield header should be around $2500 for a very good install, installer is key to a clean seamless near invisible look.....more than the film. Mine was $2250, but return customer and vet discount took off $200.
10 year Suntek Pro national warranty.

here’s a great video from a pro about how difficult the c8 is. I’m not an installer (you wouldn’t want me to try on your car) but I used to own a shop that offered ppf. I had great installers working for me. It’s not easy, but a good installer with some experience can knock it out pretty quick.

I can say i’ve had a dozen cars with PPF and never had to deal with warranty. I would not consider film warranty as a factor.

A good installer that stands behind their work is most important.

If this is done right it’s time consuming and not cheap. The OPs quote is not out of line for experienced installer doing custom cut (not a kit). Kits in general are horrible but there are times when kit pieces work fine.

Been quoted all kinds of prices, been to about a dozen shops because I guess I have nothing better to do while waiting for my car to come soon(4000 status). I am doing the entire front end, A pillars, strip above windshield, mirrors, rocker panels, and part of rear fender. Three quotes $1795-$1995 with 10 year warranty with Lumar or 3M ppf. Rest of quotes from $2500 to $6000 with same 10 year warranty and several different ppf brands. All claim to do fantastic jobs, several (including two of the lowest quotes’) have come from trusted sources. Leaning towards going to one of those lower quotes. Opinions anyone?

Number one thing you should shop for is Trust. That’s coming from a guy in the industry. If you trust the $1795 shop, there’s your answer.

What color is the car? Artic White is going to be the most susceptible for revealing film edge lines, like the lower door, behind rear wheels, etc. This is what drove my ppf brand decision. Those higher quotes seem reasonable if they include wheels-off full two-stage paint correction and a very nice ceramic coating inside and out.

I'm doing the same thing (bumper, hood, A pillars, strip above windshield, headlights, mirrors, rocker panels, boomerangs). I'm also having the windows tinted. Total is $2900. XPEL Ultimate 10 mil.

Ok....this is going to cause some to say "BS" but my guy at the shop I have been getting my window tint from for the last 30 years is doing the following for me:

EXPEL (yes, the real stuff)
FULL Bumper
FULL hood
FULL front two fenders
Both Headlights
Both Mirrors
Both Door Sills
...$1499 (Yes, I have it in writing)

I drop it off tonight and should get it back this weekend.

Color is torch red.

Yes, whom do you trust? That indeed is the question and I do not have a good answer for that, wish I did!

I had MM do my Xpel full front that included the front bumper, hood, fenders, lights, and A pillars for $1700.

Hopefully this helps.
