My dealer is telling me to expect two days of work to change the oil, switch out the front lift cap (due to a potential leak), and apply a software recall.
Anyone have practical experience with this? How long should it take complete these three things?
I would think a few hours would be more then sufficient for this work. Seems like a case of a poorly run dealership that doesn’t properly schedule techs so he wants to add a lot of buffer time to avoid an upset customer.
It shouldn't take that long, but the bug-a-boo is the software update.. Who knows what's going to happen? They want the extra time to make sure it hasn't gone to Sh!#
Just had that exact service done on mine this morning... 8:15AM - 10:45AM... 2.5 hours and that included the technician having multiple conversations with me.

I’m sure the actual job will only take a couple hours (assuming the software update doesn’t freeze up and/or crash hardware on the car). The problem probably is that the dealership probably has more cars in the shop than the techs can get through in the day so it will be sitting in line once you drop it off.
Had mine done Tuesday. They had to order the DCT filter which took about 2 weeks to come in. The actual service which was oil change, DCT filter change, software updates, and wheel inspection. Took about 2 hours total. Software update took the longest. They did find a defect in a wheel. Black trident. Very small. We called multiple dealers in the area and this small dealership has 2 corvette techs, and they did a great job. They have done about 10 so far. Scary how little some of the dealership service techs know about these cars. SBLVRO and I had cars done at same place. Highly recommend in Mid Michigan area.

This makes no sense to me.
Hmm, if also installing the DCT filter perhaps 2 hours total!
Just an oil change, since no bottom panels are remove, 15 minutes tops when on a lift.
To install the new Blue Cap on the lift reservoir takes 30 seconds, 2 minutes to remove the Frunk panels to access and 1 minute to put them back (have had that cap off a number of times!)
Last trip to the dealer since I could not update the software over the air- the tech did take ~30 minutes which I watched. Plugged in his laptop into the OBD connection, signals came from GM and he had to do twice as he was not sure it took the first time.
