I know this is a weird thing to bring up, but for some reason the back of the circled area on my steering wheel is lumpy. There's also some sort of indent in that area as well. It feels normal and smooth on the left hand side. I have a 2023 with less than 500 miles on it, so this isn't something that's happened over time.
Since I was at my dealer for another reason, I asked my advisor to look at it, and he agreed that it did feel lumpy. He asked me to check another Corvette that he had, and that one was equally lumpy on both sides. That just added to my confusion. I know this is such a weird question, but has anyone else experienced the same problem? My advisor said I could hold off for now and we can keep an eye on it. Steering wheels are limited when it comes to warranty work, and they have to send a photo to Chevrolet of the issue. I'm not sure this would really show up in a photo.
By the way, for folks in the Seattle area, Patrick Mulligan and the service team and Chevrolet of Bellevue have been excellent.
We do get some awfully weird issues reported here but that's the first I've seen of that one. The photo doesn't seem to highlight anything out of the ordinary.

actually first time seeing this and thanks for sharing
The suede steering wheel?

Just because leather steering wheels can get kinda' funky after 20 years or so, I bought an extra steering wheel for my C6 when I bought it. Also a few other interior pieces that I thought might be needing replacing in the years out when they'd no longer be available.

He said it was on the back of the steering wheel, which wasn't wasn't photographed.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that the photo is simply a photo I found online so I could circle the area in which I feel the lumpiness. The lumpiness is not on the surface of the steering wheel facing the driver, but instead on the surface facing the dash.

I have a suede steering wheel, and haven't noticed any "lumpiness" on either side. But it's darned hard to know what the owner is describing without being able to see or feel it.
i have the same lumpy feeling in the back on the left side. i think it is one of those things that you can ask for it to be replaced, and you might end up with another wheel that is the same or worse. i am on my 2nd wheel for QC issues with the stitching, the first one had no lumps in that area. I am at the point where i want to take it to an interior guy to redo the leather and stitching instead of getting replacements that might be the same or worse.
I have a lump under the leather in the same spot of my steering wheel. Mine is the standard leather wheel. I though it was a wire of some sort.

glad to know I'm not crazy. now that I know it's not unique to me (or the other Corvette at the dealer), I'm have the same concern, that a replacement will just be worse. it does feel like the padding isn't even, so maybe a local shop would do a better job of fixing it...
Bringing this thread back to life a year later. Did anyone do anything about it? Did it get worse or stay the same? I have the same thing in both sides of my new to me 21 C8. I have about a month left of warranty so considering my options. I touch that part a lot when I drive. It's not the worst thing but worried it will expand
If one will go "play" with their steering wheel I think you'll find it on all of them. Mine has it. I often find my hands gravitate toward the "lumps." I assumed it was standard and do not find it disconcerting at all.... I dive a lot.
Is it the wire for the heated steering wheel? Here's a picture of an aftermarket heated steering wheel, and it shows a wire for the heated part going to both sides behind that spoke:
