I am contemplating purchasing OEM wheels from a friend. He mentioned spacers, which I am unfamiliar with. He sold his C8, but my vehicle was not lowered. Additionally, I am concerned about potential wheel curving. Does anyone have any recommendations or insights?
Lowered has nothing to do with spacers necessarily. They are all about pushing the wheel farther out in an effort to fill the fender or get a little wider track. I'm not a fan of spacers unless they are actually necessary but I suspect you can choose to use them or not.
I drive with 20mm spacers on my Stingray. No issues at all.
I remember some wheels didn't fit and required grinding of the OEM bolts. I have the Q9I wheels and they simply slipped right on. If you get them, make sure you torque them down better than good.
If I ever remove them, it's because I'm selling the car. No way, I could go back.
I also have 20mm spacers on my C8. I bought the Paragon ones. They have been on the car for about 2-1/2 years now with no problems at all. My car is also lowered 3/4" all around. The combination, IMO, gives the car the stance it was meant to have.
