I found a really cool eagle decal and was thinking of putting it on the hood of my 2022 htc c-8 BUT I do not want to demage the car if i want to take it off later. I alsways keep my car garaged and at most just a few hours outside parked a day. so the sun might not be a factor...

Consider putting a piece of PPF under it. You could use the sticker as a template for the PPF. That way you can remove it, as PPF can be removed with some warm soapy water and maybe a touch of heat gun later.

great idea....where can i get a small piece at ? or do i need a roll and cut?? decal is like 5 inches tall and 12 inches long....thanks for tht
I would not put a small piece of PPF on the hood. The edges with accumulate dirt and look like crap. If you put PPF on the hood, do the entire hood with the edges wrapped.
I wouldn’t put it on personally, but it won’t hurt your paint. Had vinyl stripes on my C6 for over 100,000 miles . Parked outside at work 6 days a week in Texas. No problems when removed.
Honestly it looks like a new modified Trans Am. And if that’s the look you desire so be it. Nothing wrong with being different although you may receive different points of view from others. I think it would have been interesting if GM gone in this direction before Pontiac went belly up. It may even have saved the name brand.
It all depends on the specific materials the "decal" is made from. What does the supplier say it is intended for and is it an "outdoor/all-weather" decal? Personally, NO way, but of course it's up to you one way or the other.
Check with the decal manufacturer on removal procedure. My guess is that you don't need to put PPF under it and the decal is made of similar material to the stripes we put on and can be removed as easily as a stripe.

That TA-like decal is not what the OP is considering. He said it was 5x12" in size. That TA eagle decal covers the entire hood.
This is not my Z06. It is a Trans Am tribute car. Custom wheels and frunk Eagle.
It’s named the Bandido as in Smoky and the Bandit.
Just thought I would give the OP some inspiration.
I snapped this screen shot during a video because I was thinking these wheels would look good on my23 ELB C8.👍
