I was notified that a software update needed to be downloaded and installed. I followed the instructions and let it run. Got back in the car today and it said update failed. It’s running again now. Anyone have any experience with this process? First time for me with an update on my 2026. Says if it fails again I have to go to dealer.
Yes. It didnt work while parked in the garage, but when I was outdoors in a doctors parking lot it worked. Go figure? Maybe I had a better cell signal outdoors. Who knows.
If you're having installation problems make sure the battery is fully charged. The update won't install if it thinks the battery is too low to complete the process.
Bought my first yellow car a few months ago, seems like i need 4 more to catch up with you.
Wanted a yellow Vette since I was a kid. Always yellow. To me, it's the color that turns heads and it's not a color you'll see everyday on a Vette. Usually less than 10%. Be bold!

I've had a few vettes, all the darker shade of red.
I wanted a color that was uncommon and looked "clean" when it wasn't. And its the official color of corvette racing. Those were my reasons, super happy.
The update popped up on my 26 SR as I got in my car to start an out of state road trip last week. Being adventuress, I went for it, took about 15 min to complete without issues. Not noticed any changes of any kind.
Of all the Corvettes I've owned this one is absolutely the best one. I came back from the Spring Mountain Owners School and now understand how powerful this generation is.

Had 2 back to back on my '26. Both were successful, but no idea what they were for. No settings changed, unlike on my '24, where a bunch of settings had to be reinstalled.
This only for 2026 models? Or do prior model years get one too at this point?
I can't specifically comment on updates for 2026 models - I have a 2021. But what I can say is that updates seem to be VIN specific. Even with the same model year, not all units get all updates. So you cannot assume that if others received an update, you will too.
I can only speculate about the reason, but I suspect that they make running changes to software and so that will change the updates needed. Also, its possible (again speculating) that certain updates are specific to the options.
As far I know, 2021 models have not received any updates for years, even though later models are receiving updates.

My 14 month old 2025 ERay has now had 2 OTA updates both successful on first attempt. First one last year parked inside my garage. Second earlier this week was performed outdoors coincidentally in the driveway exposed to the open sky and the satellite transmission signal.

Pretty sure the OTA updates have nothing to do with a satellite signal.

That is correct. Absolutely nothing. The only comms paths used for that are the built in 4G cellular connection built into the car, or the WiFi connection when your car is connected to your internet enabled WiFi in your garage or house. On my 2021 I even have an menu option to enable or disable the downloading via a WiFi connection. And also a setting to allow downloads (not to be confused with install) in the background or by permission only.
The car receives GPS satellite signal data and processes that to determine the geolocation coordinates, but that's it. There is no connection with communications satellites, and no uplink to the GPS satellites. Its totally passive reception. It has nothing to do with downloading of vehicle software updates.
