Brakes Question
I have 60k miles on my ‘21 base vette and the brakes are starting to squeak when I pull out of the garage, but not during driving yet. I have religiously been taking the car to my local Chevy dealer for scheduled maintenance but would like to use a local mechanic for higher dollar fixes who is very competent, honest and reasonable with pricing that I use for my families cars.
This mechanic may have never worked on a C8. Are these brakes like any other cars brakes or should I either take it to Chevy or find another mechanic who specializes and is trained on C8‘s?

Just make sure he disconnects the battery before any brake work. Other than that he should have all the tools necessary. Same as all other brake systems. But MUST disconnect the battery to prevent they system from pressurizing they system which can happen on the car's own accord.

The local mechanic will be able to do it without any trouble. I'm not a mechanic and the C8 was the first car I've changed my own brake pads on. It was very straightforward. As previous poster mentioned, just remember to disconnect the battery first.
