The lube that came with the kit has actually worked very well; much better than what my local tire shops use. I looked at mfr site to buy more, but couldn't find it. Then I did a bit of search, and decided to get AGS Ru-glyde to try next when the original lube is finished.

TRACK UPDATE:

TL; DR: I think I'm diverging on a good handling setup, but I'd still like to see if I can reduce the rear lean more: I have a plan on doing that without relying too much on coilovers' compression settings.

With much increased LSC, the car became more predictable and I started getting closer to my lap times I've done with my well-setup C7 Z06. That said, the rear still leans quite a bit in long sweepers where there's heavy compression, which would probably be fixed better with stiffer sway bars.

I tried stiffer Eibach setting first for a short time, didn't see much fo a difference, and switched to softer setting. It is possible that even the stiffer setting was just not stiff enough, so perhaps it was a mistake to switch back to the softer setting so soon.

OEM Z51 rear sway bar: 300 lbs/in
Eibach rear: 421 (+40%), 510 (+70%)
AFE rear: 600 (+100%), 680(+127%), 780(+160%)

Here's my plan:
  • I'll move the Eibach back to 70% stiffer, and will likely test it again, dialing back some of that +8 LSC front and rear, and increment it again to see the impact. This time I'll use fresher tires : P
  • I've ordered the AFE rear bar. When I didn't feel a noticeable difference in the rear with 70% stiffer rear, it might be since perhaps it wasn't stiff enough to make a noticeable difference. With AFE, I'll likely make it too stiff at some point, but at least we'd see where it would get too stiff, so we could dial it back and see if we can find a sweet spot.
I'm starting to get excited for this setup. If it starts working very well, we could write it up as a 'recipe' for a good track setup; we'll see : )

My last event:
It was VERY hot. It hit 86 degrees F in the afternoon. It might not sound too hot for some of you, but the personal bests (for large cars) are usually achieved in April or October when it's in the 50s. I was stuck at 2:16.2 with Trofeo Track tires that I didn't like before. When I switched to Hankook F200 tires (a new set), I immediately dropped to 2:14.2 at same 86 degrees F, which is good!. My PB is 2.12.x with C7 Z06 on a much colder day on R7s.

Here's the video from the event (+8 LSC from defaults both front and rear):

Hankooks are at almost exact OEM diameters. For those who'd like to keep the heights stock, they might be a great option! I think they are also available in 19" wheels with same diameters. Hankook's sidewalls are also very stiff, so they're not too far off OEM tires.

Coincidentally, both tire sets had fancy branding on them. Pirellis look good, but don't perform nearly as good as Hankooks..

EBS SR11s have so far been fairing well. I have not seen any premature wear, at least not yet! One thing I see is that the brake material is deposited on the rotor quite a bit, evidenced by the slots being filled by it. I think I've seen other pad brands do that as well, but probably not as much as these pads. EBC mentions this as a 'feature' in their catalogue, stating this deposit much reduces rotor wear.

That said, I don't see the same deposit on the rear rotors. Perhaps fronts run hotter, increasing the speed of the deposit.

Glad you’re finally getting somewhere with the car!
For the Hankooks, what are the 19” sizes that are close to OEM? Im
not familiar with the slicks sizing numbers

Slicks are so much easier to understand than regular sizes, since no calculation is needed. Second number is the overall diameter.
  • OEM sizes in slick sizing are ~680mm front and ~710mm rear.
  • My current Hankook set is 300/680/18, 320/710/18.
  • If you rather have 19" wheels, you can simply order 300/680/19, 320/710/19 that they have; as simple as that!
