Its crazy that GM would make it that difficult to change seats, in the Porsche world, just swap, maybe different connector needed, clear code and done, very simple.

This is going to sound dumb but was it confirmed the new seats have airbags in them? Did you try swapping back to the comp seats and see if the error code went away? Is it possible to splice the connector? Spitballing here.
