Ok I am curious as to what you do that you can work for free and afford “not to rip anyone off”? I know I sure like to make money so I must be ripping others off too? Phooey on anyone that has an investment, overhead, staff and their families to feed, etc they are all out to get the world!!

Black Book means squat. Being in the car dealership industry for 10 years I know that trading in a car is the worst thing you can do. Obviously try to sell it yourself first, have a bit of patience and it will be worth it. Never mention a trade until you work out the price of the vehicle that you want to buy. The best time to sell a sports car is in Feb, March and April anytime before and after that and you miss the season.

Someone bumped this old thread so I can't resist chiming in...the OP definitely got insulted and given my recent experience with dealers I can confirm...if a dealer cannot pay the appropriate trade in value they should just refrain from lowballing and say they can't take the trade in. It doesn't mean the potential buyer will run away, instead he/she could buy from them and sell privately.

On my recent 2007 C6 trade I was quoted a difference of 50% between low and high by dealers so guys definitely shop around.

So you dug up a really old thread for what reason? And back when this thread was started, there was no such thing as a C7, so WTF are you even talking about?

Thats business. They buy low and sell high. Huge overhead at dealerships and vetted are seasonal sales. Don't take it personally. Take your business elsewhere.
Like someone said above, they didn't want your car ( for whatever reason) or they would've offered more.
My 2 cents
