hey everyone,

im picking up my 02 c5 zo6 on Friday.i am reading all these apparent issuses with valve springs yet all the dealerships im calling say its not an issue and replacing the spring would be ridiculous.i was quoted 350 in parts and 700 labor at another.have any of you replaced your springs and if so where and how much.

Sounds a bit on the step side, high end aftermarket springs are usually less than that, contact our forum sponsor Manny at DaSilva Motorsports he is close to you and I and he'll steer you in the right direction....866-992-3752

I believe the 01 and 02 cars as well as some of the 03 cars had weaker valve springs. I didn't do my research well enough and ended up doing the springs on my 04 although it may not have been necessary. OTOH the car sees a lot of track duty so the safety factor is likely worthwhile. BTW mine was done at Powell Motorsport for sig less than you were quoted with I believe Comp Cam springs.
