Default Chevron Techron Concentrate Fuel System

Went by Chevron here in Calgary yesterday to pick up my yearly dose of Chevron Techron Concentrate Fuel System and was notified that they were out and are having trouble getting it into Alberta due to packaging issues or something.
Can you guys out in Ontario still get yours from Chevron?
Thanks,
Brad

Now that you said that, the guy at Chevron said the same thing.
He was going to look in to it and see if they plan on resolving that issue. He told me to give him a call in a few weeks.
So I guess it is just not a Alberta issue!
Thanks

If you can't find it easily, a couple of great alternatives are Gumout Regane (which is often on sale for 40% off at Canadian Tire) or Redline's Si-1. Both of these have a high concentration of Poly Ether Amines (that's the main ingredient in Techron as well and that chemical is the most effective fuel system cleaner available)

Chevron Techron is well known to keep your fuel gauge sending unit happy, as per the C5 forum and it has worked for me the last couple of seasons.

No!!!! Seafoam is old school technology, it uses naptha and a light carrier oil, none of which will do all that much to clean your fuel system. People like to run it through the throttle body and tons of smoke comes out of the tailpipes so they think this is the product doing it's cleaning but that's simply the carrier oil in it that is burning off. It contains no PEA whatsoever. Stay far away from this snake oil!

I agree , no SEAFOAM , its for boats and and carbs. BUY a catch can! Its like Bardahl down the carb of an old flathead to make a smoke show..

US Wallmart prices Techron concentrate reasonably and yes it is a French labelling language problem. But C5 s are the only vettes that really need the concentrate to keep the fuel syphon clear of yuk and the fuel guage working. If you have to take the rear of the right fuel tank apart and remove the siphon tubing, cleaning the tubing with Techron concentrate works great. Its the ethanol in the fuel that causes the problem. Chevron Fuel Injection cleaner has no effect on the gauge/siphon problem by the way and it is available in Canada.
I don't have C5s anymore but after I suffered a major fuel gauge and siphon problem that disabled the right tank , I cleaned it all up and ran 94 octane in Canada and the best I could get in the states and poured a 1/2 bottle can in every fill up and in California a bottle every time I filled up.This was after GM changed out the fuel gauge 2 times.

Not to side track this thread but there is a website that's called 'pure gas.org' or something like that. It lists the gas stations that sell ethanol free gas such as Canadian Tire 91.

I'm pretty sure Ultra 94 has ethanol.

True, Petro Canada has ethanol in both of it's premiums (91 and 94).

Shell, Canadian Tire and Costco sell ethanol free premium, I'm not sure about Esso (never go there)

Hi Everyone. Went to fuel up today gauge was reading 1/2, put in $15 and clicked off. Thought to myself that's weird should be about 40-50 bucks. Started it up still read 1/2 tank. I've only been using Chevron 94 with Techron in it, and NO Ethanol, since the car was purchased last September 4000 miles ago.
So do you think the fuel sensor is hooped? I've looked all over town and can't find any Techron concentrate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see from (patman's post) Canadian tire has a couple of alternatives, has any tried them and did they free up the sensor?

Thanks for the info. I'll have to give it a try.
I think I saw you earlier this spring turn onto the TCH going towards Malakwa. Nice ride. Mine is an AO 08 coupe see you out there.

If it was a Black C5 Vert I was probably on a test & tune spin, I re cam'd & upgraded the valve train

The Seafoam works well for me, I've had a fuel gauge reporting issue for years. I add a full can when I fill up & it goes away for awhile. My C6 has not been an issue, I do add a can Seafoam to it on occasion trying to be preventative.

No Chevron in Sicamous, can't drive all the way to Salmon Arm

Not so much for those in Calgary; but for those close to the US border.

Autozone carries the "chevron techron" and quite often has a two for one deal. That's when I stock up!
