But I have a Sony 55 inch rear projection TV (M/N KP-53HS10) we are discarding. It works just fine.
It's HD ready - whatever that means.
Maybe somebody wants it for cottage or garage?
I intend to start taking it apart soon. Free to anyone who wants it.
No jokes about cassette or BETA machines please

You sure know how to take the fun out of things.
Was a great TV in the day. Had the 51" SONY KP-51WS510 Rear Projection, and couldn't even give it away to ValueVillage, Goodwill or Salvation Army at the time when I replaced it with my 60" Samsung PN60F5500 last year. Hated to do it with a working TV but ended up dropping it off for recycling.

We Had Same Sony - Had Trouble Giving Away
Some very nice chaps from an unemployed worker group picked it up. I felt guilty and gave them a 34 foot aluminum ladder to sell - not much on heights.

That probably won't be a lamp Al. A friend had a similar issue on his Sony. Turns out it was a $400U.S. control board. Actually, a $1 capacitor on a $400 control board. A very well (not received) documented issue on Sony forums. LOL.

I tried that too. Had the ad up for a couple of days. Plenty of nibbles asking if I could deliver it. Sorry no, you want it for free, you come pick it up. Took it down, tried the donation thing, they didn't want it, so off to recycle it went. I remember when I took it, there must have been about 100 other big screen tv's there as well just waiting to get shipped off.

I remember back in my Radio Shack days, I used to love listening to the scanners and the cb's. I can understand it, but I kinda wish I learned to speak the "lingo".
Smokey and the Bandit
Convoy
Great CB movies.
Now I'm heading to the back row to find me some lot lizzards.

Along with Jacks TV, I can make this a package deal.
32" JVC Tube TV. bought new in 1997, still works great. First treat I bought myself when I became single again in 1997. lol
Free to a good home. Just need 2 or 3 strong men to move it out of my basement.

long story short, bought a 60inch Hitachi in 1991 for 5400 hundred, marked down from 7500, yikes,,, no issues for first 10, replaced something for 300 no issue for another 10, slowly faded away. Thing weighed 400 lbs and was in the rec room. I dismantled it and took it out in pieces. I cried at the thought of throwing 5400 bucks out, in fairness I had some great times with it,,, so I had a friend cut the mirror down for the bathroom when we renovated it. So now I tell people I have a 5400 plus taxes mirror in the bathroom,,,
oh,and Jack I am not laughing,,,
