Why not just remove the battery? Hassle? Security system? Audio reset?

My '78, I just take the battery out and put it on the bench in my shop.

Took the car out for the last time today. Quick drive to top up the tank. Parked the car and removed the battery.

It's a lot quicker and easier to just hook up a trickle charger than to remove the battery. Plus in my case I keep the insurance on so if we get dry roads (which we often do) I can take it out for a nice long highway drive on a moments notice.

I removed the battery in my C6/Z06. In the spring all I have to do is re-index the windows. The radio keeps its memory.
