*****, sorry to hear about your sacrifice! As an FYI, if you were pulled by a NY State Trooper, more than likely your case would be in a City Courthouse. As such, if found guilty of what the State Trooper got you for, the fine would go into the State coffers and the points would show up in Ontario. If however, you plea bargain to a City offense with the City Courthouse Prosecutor, say failing to yield at a posted yield sign, it would be a non-point offense and you would only pay the fine. The money would then go to the City coffers. Basically, the City grabs the money that otherwise would go to the State. No BS, I got pulled a few years back and went and fought it as the Courthouse was in Buffalo. The above was exactly what happened and the Prosecutor approached me with the proposal. I said, no points, he confirmed and set the fine for $100. I said sign me up! Paid the fine and no record/points in either NY State or Ontario.

Well not as bad as I had originally thought for 95 in a 60 mph zone. $371.00 USD----$462.62 Cdn. Bad part is the 3 points that comes with that!! I would like to thank Bruce (Slacks) for an instant contribution 2 days after the incident. If anyone else would like to share the burdon of donation to the NY State police fund coffers let me know. Funds will be gratefully accepted and faithfully applied!!! It was still an awesome trip with some pretty funky people!!!!
