[QUOTE=walleyejack;1594027217]just wondering if anyone here has experienced the warble from the diff. in the 2016 / 2017

I experienced the same "warble" sound depicted in the main thread. ( 2016 Z51 A8 )
To my ear, though, it sounded like it is coming from underhood. I only noticed it after installing the AFE-Momentum air intake.
As the car is currently away for the winter I'm waiting till spring and returning the intake back to stock to see if the "warble" is still present.

I'm not sure if this helps - but since the drive shaft spins a lot faster - might any warble sound be more likely to come from a rear universal - if there is still such a thing?

no sir.. gm definately knows about the issue, and trying to bury it. some have had ring and pinion replaced, same issue, some have had newer version of diffs installed and that resolved the issue, but GM has not resolved the problem yet.

Al, has this been an issue for you since you got the car?

Frustrating I am sure. Good luck getting it fixed.

hey Murray, started probably a month later, mostly when is cold in the am, but have been noticed it more and more anytime, is a real problem with guys in the US. i have been following the thread. will see how it plays out. for me, not a big deal, just aggravating noise that should not be there and should be resolved, i have not pursed the issue as waiting to see how it plays out down below and can t get the car out anyways. that is why we have warranty, if it blows up it blows up.

Ok thanks - I understand...
I hope you don't have it blow up on you - cause I've been there & it's not a fun ride when that happens - hahaha.
This also reminds me of back when I had what was then a common problem - of chattering sound in the posi-traction in my TransAm... all GM did was suggest an additive to the diff fluid.
If things were only that simple for you in this case.

Totally a warranty issue when the car makes sounds it should not make. Take it to the dealer and make hem fix it. Don't accept "it should sound like that - this is normal". As a minimum, it gets the issue recorded in the system for your car so you have proof it happened early in your ownership. The longer you sit and tolerate it, the more excuses they will have about wear and tear and that it was something you did...

And ask for the "Regional Service Manager from GM". Dealership is useless as they will continue to pump the Corporate line. I kept a book of all my service records on my 98 and after a year of dealer visits I finally got the GM rep mentioned above. Showed him my file and asked if they wanted to pay me to be a satellite research facility...ended up in a buyback which is how I got my 2000. Hope it does not come to that, but you already have had one issue I know about...good luck and it sucks you have this gremlin to deal with!

i am assuming, no one in Canada has the warbling issue, lots of US guys using the lemon law and sending them back, and getting screwed on the price. and gm say, too bad, that s the way it is. they are still denying any issues. "just normal" is what they are telling everyone. BS.

Yikes - I just went back & read the first & last few pages of the link you provided at the top - & I gotta think this problem must be in many Canadian cars as well!
As soon cars come out of storage - people should start listening closer.
I haven't read all the posts - so can you tell me if this has been reported in all year C7 up to 2017 - cause the lack of others noticing this sound does seem strange...?

what is the gear ration in the diff ?
if you have 3.42 there have been almost no issues with them.

i don t have the issue like the A8 s do, mine is only a nano second from a stop, so it doesn t last long, i m not worried about, blow up, who cares, warranty. i changed the diff fluid made a bit of difference, i suppose if the dealer had filled it up to begin with i would have the noise even, was down a thimble full short of a litre.
