Where today is the car I loved - but sold?
So there's this other thread running right now - with a guy trying to track down his new, used car's prior owner - & it got me thinking.
Wouldn't it be nice to know where some of my earlier Vettes were today - & how well they've fared over the years...
If only my past cars had an owner plaque - where I could have written in contact info - & in today's high tech cars - enter into the computer.
Something more permanent than just leaving a letter in the glovebox - that some car jockey cleanup kid will toss the minute you've driven off the lot with your new ride.
Keep in mind I'm only talking about your current baby - not your beater.
The new owner would be enticed to contact you to not only learn about repair & maintenance - but to hear tales of the car's early history - epic road trips - places visited - photos to share - etc.
Just think - the car you own today will most likey still be on the road long after you are dead & forgotten - & this might prove to give you a bit of immortality...?
So am I crazy - drunk - or maybe really onto something?

Where are they now?
Agreed! I would like to know where my '72 Bryar Blue, Base T-Top w/TH400 and black leather Custom Interior is! Midwest somewhere, me thinks. That was my first car, in '77!

And sometimes you are better off not knowing.
A few years ago, I tracked down my '97 Camaro Z28 Convertible to see if I can buy it back.
Bought new in '97 for my 30th birthday. I took care of the car. It was never abused or crashed. This was taken about a month before I traded it in for my '03 C5 in '07.
To what I found. This was less than a year after that owner bought it. It was a write off and subsequently scrapped. To this day, one of my biggest regrets was letting it go. But finding it is a close second.
