2018/2017 discounts
I hear the supply of new Corvettes is significant now and wonder what discounts buyers are getting today here in Ontario?

GM's website just shows a $1500 cash credit on new 2017 Corvettes but I don't think there are any rebates on the 2018s. That being said, dealers should be able to knock off at least $3000 off MSRP even without any factory incentives.

I'm in the GTA so competition between dealers can help increase the discounts received. Allocation of 2017s are done and dealers will try to get them off their lots as the 2018s are rolling in soon, if they haven't already. My dealer has 2 2018s listed, but not sure if they are on the floor or arriving soon.

I think that there are still a few dealers out there that are willing to give bigger discounts on base/Z51 models, as I've noticed a few in Auto Trader. Check out this link below on a lightly optioned 1LT base model, MSRP is $73,245 but they are discounting it by $4500 to $68,745.

Additionally, keep in mind that the $4500 discount may include the $1500 cash incentive and/or (Not sure if it can be combined) the $1500 GM Visa application rebate.

Just found the vehicle on the dealer site. $3k discount + $1.5 GM Visa application discount.
They have a few other 1LT Stingrays, $3k discount including 2018 model. However, looks like the GM Visa application discount only applies to 2017 Models.

I often wonder how good of a deal you could get if the dealer is having to locate the car from another dealer. I know with regular cars that are a dime a dozen it can be easy as one dealer will just trade a nearly identical car (but maybe in a different color) with another dealer. But with the Corvette, what happens if the dealer you want to buy from has no Corvettes at all, how does he acquire that car from the other dealer if he has nothing to give them in return?
I wish it were easier to search through dealer inventory for cars, having to put in a postal code on the GM site isn't good enough, I would rather be able to just see every single car available in all of Ontario, as I wouldn't have a problem travelling to Windsor or Kingston if I found the right car.
I also wonder, who gives the best deal around, a huge one like Wilson Niblett, or a medium sized one out of town like Brian Cullen in St Catharines? (who always seems to have a decent supply in stock) Or do I just stick close to home and go to Budd's in Oakville? This is the decision I need to come up with as I'm planning on ordering a 2018 next spring (unless I found one in stock, but I doubt I would find what I want, as I want the rarely ordered grey interior with Torch Red, in a very lightly optioned 1LT coupe)

What exactly is that $1500 application discount? Is it something as simple as, we'll give you another $1500 off just by applying for this credit card? (Spirit airlines offered something similar on a recent flight I took, they gave out bonus mile vouchers instantly to anyone who simply applied for their credit card right there on the flight)

I was told that the rebate was $750 prior to June and was doubled to $1500 for June. We'll see in a few days what happens for July.

It definitely seems like a good time to buy, it's just too bad that the dealers up here don't offer the same inventory as the big US dealers where they often have 100-150 new Corvettes in stock!
One thing that has me worried about ordering next spring is that when the Corvette plant comes back online again after it's 3 month shutdown, I heard it's going to be operating at half speed. I'm not sure if that's for the entire 2018 model run or just at first but either way, allocation will be affected, and Canadian dealers might only be able to get a fraction of the allocation they currently get.

Best deals are made for inventory in hand. The dealer will want to move vehicles on their lot vs locating one from another dealer. For Vettes, I've been told that smaller dealers may not release inventory if they have a small allocation.
When I located my car, I searched for inventory based on Exterior and Interior colours on the GM site. It was pretty accurate in finding a match and then the closest dealers with a vehicle that had the colour options I was looking for. Then I looked at the description for other things like the Auto transmission, exhaust etc. I just had to make sure that the postal code was accurate.
I actually contacted both Wilson Niblett and Brian Cullen when looking for my Vette. They were more open to price negotiation than smaller dealers. At that time, I had no idea that they were larger Vette dealers. My understanding now is that larger Vette dealers sell on volume and sell make money on the maintenance. Their sales pitch is that they sell and service so many more Vettes than other dealers, they know how to service them properly as they invest in the proper equipment and training of the staff.

For those who can't afford a cash purchase, we have 0% financing over 48 months (US has over 60 months) if vehicle is delivered in June. This may be extended for July.
Yeah, if our allocation gets affected, then we will see less incentives. I hope that you'll be able to get the one you want at the "best" price.

I wonder if they are willing to discount an even bigger price if you are going to do a factory order? My reasoning that the discount should be larger is that the car costs them less because it gets immediately delivered to the customer as opposed to sitting on their lot (and it costs them money every month it sits there unsold)

Out west is the place to buy Calgary/Edmonton Example Z51 Vert 2LT $71,000 out the door. That includes 5% gst . Additional cost would be the remaining gst for Ontario and about $1200 shipping.
Get in touch with a dealer out there. I got the quote above from Jack Carter Chevrolet in Calgary.

My next addition to the Corvette collection is definitely a GS. The reviews are incredible and no heat issues.
I'm going to wait until the C8 is available and look for a dealer clearance.

Broadway Chevrolet Redwood City is offering 12% on all Corvettes. They have about 60 17's in inventory. Ask for Michael Little. 650-575-8595 You can use me as a reference.

Isn't this in California though? Doesn't do much good for us Canadians, we can't purchase new Corvettes from a US dealer. And if we could, we'd be more likely to go to Kerbeck in NJ which has a much larger inventory and is an 8-10 hour drive away instead of a 2-3 day drive to California.

Looks like the June offers (Financing / Lease / $1500 GM Visa application rebate) did not carry over to July.
The $1500 cash purchase incentive has also been reduced to $664.
Currently, there are no incentives listed for any Corvettes this month. They have changed the incentive from reduced Finance Rates to Markdowns up to 20% off MSRP on select models/trims. Naturally, the Corvette is not a participating model. The Camero on the other hand has an incentive of 15% off MSRP on the 1SS Coupe...
