Default Shop that can paint callipers

Hi guys,

Looking for a shop to remove and paint my callipers red with Brembo sticker. I was quoted a ridiculous price at Pfaff tuning. Recommend a place if you know one.

Anywhere in the GTA

Thanks!

Hope they are indeed ‘Brembo’.

I’d get them powder coated...

Powder coating will mean a caliper rebuild as well. Painting potentially saves you that cost.

If rebuild cost is something you are fine with, then I too would recommend powdercoat. Metal Coaters is who is used; Supreme Calipers for the rebuild.

Agreed. A recent article I read in a good car mag stressed the importance of dealing with a shop who knows how to rebuild calipers after the powder coating shop has done their thing. The fluid passages in a caliper are quite small, it takes nothing to block them, and you don't want to find out you have no brakes after mounting your shiny new calipers on your car.

If you are only having the exteriors done, then fine, but even then the heat of powder coating can/will damage seals, etc...

Proceed with caution...

Yep, and unless they know exactly what they are doing think twice about who is rebuilding your caliper. If powdercoating, your brakes would take a bath in an acid wash. Not sure how that would affect the seals.

Painting in most cases works out well if prepped properly.

To me, the extra couple hundred bucks for a finish that will hold up and knowing that my brakes were rebuilt properly made it an easy decision.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Powder coating is technically stronger, but regular automative paint and clearcoat works too. Proper preparation as always is the key. Any COMPETENT shop can do this for you.

I painted mine myself with automotive paint and had Champion Motors clearcoat them. (Vinyl lettering done, then cleared ontop) Been 6+years and still good. Some small nicks, but that happens when changing and removing wheels pretty often. Powdercoat is NOT necessary, trust me.

I stripped and painted the calipers. I painted the calipers with a brush from a company called G2.
I purchased the stickers from a company called FourthCircle Designs.
I re-painted them In April. The paint has held up including track events at Mosport.
Here is a before and after pic.

I painted mine on the GS with tremclad red rattle paint, got the decals then cleared them
The dealer thought they were factory done and i have used the car as a pace car for racing in Ontario , so the brakes get used alot
They still look good

I painted mine years ago, with actual brake caliper paint from crappy tire, not bad, touch them up once in a while....buddy got his powder coated from that TPS Mac guy on the US parts for sale section..... Way nicer and no touch ups needed... If I wasn't so lazy I'd get an exchange set from him .... I see he's got a big blurb again for them on the US parts section...
