Default Thoughts on the transparent roof?

Brian Cullen has quite a few Grand Sports for sale but he seems to get them with transparent roofs.

Just looking for peoples thoughts and if you have one how does it do long term?

Thanks

nice but it gets real hot in the cabin,, I finally bought a liner.
one cheaper method is just some flat black mactac stuff cut to fit.

I ordered my car with the dual roof package but the body colour has been back on since early June. It gets smoking hot inside. If you had a shade it'll cut it significantly. I do enjoy having the clear roof on it though

I have a clear roof. It is really nice aesthetically. Really opens the car up and makes it airy. BUT as mentioned previously it make the car unbelievably hot. My car has mods and a ton of heat comes from the tunnel area. It is as if the glass top seals the heat in and magnifies it.. I bought a conventional top and it has never been off since I got it.

I've been reading of electronically variable glass tints for maybe 20 years, so kind of surprised this technology isn't widely available yet.

Have had one for 18 yrs. Garage parked no issues (I.e. peeling), creaks sometimes but am too lazy to do the fix. Besides, the **** on the radio thingy or the foot on the pedal drowns it out with better noise. Yeah, it gets hot at times, but that's when it comes off or the A/C goes on. When topless on a hot day A/C full blast at the feet, cap on, good to go. Have thought about tinting it and may do it at some point. Flip side, in cooler weather (early spring and late fall), the sun through the roof feels great. Have the solid roof as well for those times when I feel like being boxed in. I say go for it. I haven't had the solid one on in years as the clear one does open up the cabin...plenty of workarounds if it gets hot.

I've only ever had the transparent roof on my C5. I do like how open the cabin is with it. I've never noticed the heat being any worse compared to my other vehicles. The AC cools it just fine.
