Default High Speed Tire Balancing

Anybody know of a good shop that will do high speed balancing on custom wheels with stick on weights in the GTA? (I have CCW's)

I did not notice this before but I think I have something out of balance. You know these old C5's can't get much going much over 100 but getting sucked into the draft of some of these wide body C6 and C7's the car just got going too fast. LOL.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. No one that I know of in my area has the equipment to do it. High speed tractor wheels maybe but not these wheels.

Don't know of anyone close to you Murray but Dave Stevenson in Port Perry should be able to help you out. He's on Hwy 12 so it's relatively easy for you to get to him and you wouldn't have to come all the way into the GTA. Give him a call during the week.

I've had road force balancing done on my CCWs with so-so results, best balancing I've ever had was done with the wheels still on the car and spinning the entire assembly including wheel, tire, rotor, etc ..... Hard to find anymore but there's still a place.... The guys are a PITA to deal with, I'll send you a PM....

Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.

Ice had had decent luck with RI before.
im in Bracebridge camping withbthe family. I'm going to drop in there and get a quote on some tires for my pickup. Hauling the trailer in yesterday's rainstorm was a bit hairy to say the least. I could get this summer out if them, if I wasn't hailing the camper around.

I had a new set of Michelins installed on my ex 2011 C6 at a local Michelin dealer.Lots of issues with the tires that I bought from Discount Tire Direct in the USA.Delivered to my door in 1.5 days, no charge. Dollar wasn't at par but close enough to beat local pricing.I ended up with a road force balance at a CAA service centre in St.Catharines on Ontario St. An older tech, (somewhat like myself), first checked the out of round of each wheel with a dial indicator & marked the high & low spots. He then checked the new tires for out of round & refused to mount anything over .010" out of round. We tried a tire with .012 " out of round & it shook like hell. Discount had the BEST service I've ever experienced. They sent new replacement tires, no questions asked, ( in 1.5 days) ,took the old ones back at their cost via the Brown Truck. They ended up replacing 3 of the 4 tires that I bought. Best we got was .009" out of round. The guy at CAA had the patience of a saint & showed me every step he was doing. Charged me for one R & R.Discount never questioned his measurements.

Just a quick update. Dropped into Rocky Island Tire in Bracebridge, Ontario (right off Highway 11 on the east side two exits north of 118).

Spoke to Greg and he claims they can balance custom wheels including road force balancing. They have two techs that are trained on the equipment but Greg says he likes to be there when this type of work is being done. They were working on a brand new Z06 when I was there.

I am going to take my wheels and tires off and take them over. Greg says he can tell before doing anything on them if they are in balance or not. I will let you know what happens next.

In hindsight I should have worded that differently.

Yeah......If he can do that, then buy US a lottery ticket after he tells us the numbers !!!

Oh....Just a heads up. I dropped $4K getting my wifes car fixed there 6 weeks ago, had a problem with my Dodge PU and he tried to jam me for $200 plus over 2 other quotes to get my front wheel bearing replaced, saying the other guys were running down the business....HF
