Ontario Time-Attack at Shannonville Aug 25-26
The Mobil 1 sponsored Ontario Time-Attack is back at Shannonville Motorsport Park on Aug 25-26 running the Pro track (second fastest track in Ontario) on Saturday and more technical but longer Full track on Sunday and you are invited.
Not as fast as the Smith's Falls runway but even my bone stock C5Z routinely breaks 190 according to the data logger and you get a lot of high speed and medium speed turns as well.
All you need is a reasonably new Snell approved helmet and if you are not familiar with the tracks, we can provide instruction with certified instructors.
For more information go to https://time-attack.ca/ or PM me for more info. 6 out of 58 competitors at our last event where in Corvettes and all of them street driven. Competitor's cars range from Miatas to full blown Radicals.
Shannonville is not as fast as the Grand Prix track at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park but is a heck of a lot safer.
You do NOT need a race car and the majority of cars in Ontario Time-Attack are street driven. Lapping only spots are available for the mornings but there is nothing like the thrill of actually being in competition (which we do all afternoon). Passing is not allowed at all in the afternoon during time trial competition so you get to drive at the fastest speed that you feel comfortable with.
