Default Niagara Cruise and Donation Drive - Saturday, June 1, 2019

<<< Niagara Cruise and Donation Drive >>>

<<< UPDATE 3: Meet up and pre meet locations - see Post #6 >>>

<<<UPDATE 2: See first comment below for donation request details >>>

<<<UPDATE 1: Reservations are for 50 people. Will look to increase if needed, but just a heads up that those beyond 50 may be at risk for a seat at lunch. >>>

Date: Saturday, June 1, 2019 (Rain date: June 2)
Start Location: Shell Gas Station - Fruitland and QEW
Lunch: Butler's Bar and Grill, Niagara-on-the-Lake
Departure Time: 9:30am

Details:
Posting this up to kick off the season with a run to Niagara with a fundraising twist.

One of our HDR members, Chase K, reached out to me as he wanted to do something in memory of his mom for Mother's Day. His idea is to organize an event where he hopes to get donations to support moms who are with their kids while they are at SickKids Hospital. The details of what he is looking to do are noted in Post #2 below.

Lunch will be at Butler's Bar and Grill and we are waiting on the lunch options (Butler's would prefer a set menu as we typically get a great turnout).

If you think you would be able to attend and also support what Chase is doing, post up so we can get an idea of numbers. Here is a link with some information on what Chase is looking to support:

<<< Message from Chase K >>>

As mentioned, Chase initiated this cruise with the hope of getting donations to support the Mother's Day initiative at SickKids. He reached out to SickKids and here is what he would ask those planning to attend to support:

SickKids mentioned that the best thing to do was to donate multiples of the same item and suggested fleece blankets for mom's staying overnight with their children.

As such, any cash donations would be used by Chase to purchase blankets. Alternatively, if you would like to donate a fleece blanket, feel free to give it to Chase at any of the stops on the cruise. He will coordinate a drop off at SickKids afterwards.

Chase has a silver C7 with black stripes and the plate "PIPES GS".

Thanks in advance for your support and kindness!

We will be using the Zello walkie talkie smartphone app to communicate during the cruise. I have renamed the channel we used last year to "Niagara Cruise and Donation Drive", my handle on Zello is "TEEKTAAK".

Please install the app (if you haven't done so already) and search and request access to this channel. It worked amazing last year!

Al it is one of those name holders they use on tables in fancy restaurants like Wendy's and Burger King.

Sounds like a great day for a good cause. Count me in for 2.

Reservations are for 50 people. Will look to increase if needed, but just a heads up that those beyond 50 may be at risk for a seat at lunch.

I should be good to go. Hopefully it won't rain (or snow).
No worries if no seat for lunch, likely can't stay the whole day anyways.
