You do know that the 25th Anniversary Corvette Caravan is happening at the same time? They say they are expecting 10,000 Vettes so good luck securing spots anywhere.

Caravans start rolling in on the 27th with the events taking place from the 28 -31. No word yet on whether the plant will be open for tours.

You’ll be leaving just as the Caravan starts rolling into town

I did kinda the same trip back in 09 driving my Z. Went to Carlisle then to Bowling Green for a plant tour then headed up to Wixom (via Summit Racing in Ohio) for the engine plant tour then home.

Almost 3000kms over 5 days or so......Z was a great cruiser on the highway. Wicked mileage for a big cube 7L engine.

Check out if any races are running at Beech Bend, even if not worth the beautiful drive to the amusement park.

I don't want to go as far as saying you can't stick around during the caravan events, but those of us in the caravan had to register with the NCM for the time we'll be there. It's $60 per person. Things like the parade on Thursday, August 29th, and other things being organised by the NCM makes it seem like the event is only for the many caravans that will be descending on the area from all over North America.

BUT I COULD BE WRONG...

I suggest you contact the Museum to make "non-caravan" visitors are welcome during the caravan dates....

Swing by to see NCM Motorsports Park. It's right across the interstate from the museum. Bowling Green's a small town so there's not a lot to see besides the GM stuff.

Go to Nashville for dinner one evening. Check out the nightlife there.
I think it’s about a one hour drive.
