Default Price Check....C5 Nassau Blue Coupe

Hey Vette forum,

I hate posting these types of threads, but I could use some insightful knowledge as I havenít been paying too much attention to the C5 market. Long story short I sold my Vette a few months ago and Iím having withdraws. Yep, didnít take long, eh? Perhaps a Ďsicknessí.

Anyway a nice C5 popped near me and I was curious what would be fair for both buyer and seller? Itís a 1997 Coupe, has 117,000 kms, looks clean(havenít seen it in person yet). Seller is asking $18,500. Too me that seems very high. Iíve seen recently 02+ verts with under 80kms for $18-20k.

Was curious wjat what would be a fair offer? I donít want to insult a seller, but car is only worry what someoneís willing to pay I guess.

Thanks everyone!!

High for a 1997 - it's a very early C5 and will need a lot of maintenance things.

I say $15K maybe even less.

Others might chime in with their humble opinions....

Thanks for the feedback guys. Found out car is a 3 owner American car. Has a crack on the targa top and a slight rip in the seat. Those are pretty minor, just kind of uneasy to buy an American car, especially at that price. Maybe I’ll keep searching....if I offered 14/15k I may upset the guy, but maybe worth a look.

Both tops and upholstery can get very expensive. I'd be very surprised if it's worth it at $15k, even if you're doing the work yourself.

Thanks a lot guys, much appreciated. I also seen a 1996 Special Edition lt4 C4 that caught my eye on kijiji. I’ve had c4s in the past, so I like those too. It’s only got 64000 kms on it, but seller is asking $18,000....sounds really high no?

Yes, that's high for a C4
