How long do you spend......
.....outside washing and waxing your car? I was outside from 5:45pm until 9:00pm. I did a Dawn wash and dry, vacuum the interior, wipe down all of the plastic inside, cleaned the tires, polished the tires, waxed the car and buffed it out. Is this average with what you guys do?

Re: How long do you spend...... (Stingray1967)
Thursday I started at about 9AM and quit at about 4:30 and wasn't finished yet.. But I shampooed carpet detailed the engine and polished the glass.. I also put on 2 coats of Z5 but that was the easy part... Tooth brush in the engine compartment where I loos the time..
Normally, I do mine once per week and I only spend about 2~3 hours on it ... : ;)

I started a few weeks ago with Zaino and I'm still going. Of course I'm going in sections, waiting forever because the humidity is so [language deleted] high.
The payoff is when you park next to some poor slob with a year old average daily driver that obviously has never seen clean water and a sponge, nevermind Meguires or Zaino and they can't figure out how come it is your car is so nice looking ;)

I think it's supposed to be part of the "fun" anyway. Parked next to a fellow's same-year Triumph this morning and it kind of made it all worth while.

Re: How long do you spend...... (Stingray1967)
On the day I got the car I spent from 6pm to midnight "protecting it" and wasn't finished. I spent another two hours the next day finishing up.
I'll usually spend 6 hours after a long trip assessing the "wear and tear" with repair.
Normally I spend a couple of hours every two weeks depending on my work schedule.

Thanks!
You vette people got me on the Zaino bug. I think it actually looks better (as you well know) with a "more pure" look, but I don't think the pictures between Meguires and Zaino really show any difference. Those lower portions are like mirrors now though.
