Default Mothers Back to Black

Has anyone tried this product for trim? Label reads ok but I thought I would touch base with the guru's here before it gets to the front of the shelf.

LOVE IT !
I keep trying new things on the SUV that stays outside, but still, my best combination to bring old weatherstripping and trim back to life is:
  • 1. cotton T-shirt and Meguiar's quick detailer - rub on by hand to give a thorough cleaning first. Fantastic at removing old wax residue
  • 2. then apply Back to Black - I also apply with cotton T-shirt. Will soak right in and and ring the black to life again

Mothers back to black is excellent product. I use a small foam paint brush to apply. I'm lucky to have a place near me that sells a large bag of those foam brushes for one dollar. A bag will last more than a year.

Plenty of the foam brushes down here, I will be stopping this afternoon & pickup a bag.

I haven't tried it B2B but I use Z16 or Stoners Trim Shine for similiar duties. I have heard a lot of positive feedback on the B2B.

The Z16 has some awesome rubber preservatives and is great for tires weatherstripping etc...

The Stoners Trim shine is an aerosol and is great for large areas such as under the hood and hard to reach areas etc...

The product itself is a milky white liquid. So you are not just painting the surface a new color black. Whatever is in it, it penetrates the trim and moistens it. The directions say to rub it in to the surface, then come back and wipe off any residue later.

I never come back later and wipe if off, but maybe that's why sometimes I've had streaks down the side of the car for an inch or two. That shouldn't happen if you wipe it off. But I'm too lazy.

The best.. It brings back faded trim and renews those spots that the wax causes etc.

Mothers is a nice product but several other products available to renew trim. I personally prefer Black Again for the rubber under the front air-dam on the C6 and wifes CTS.
