Default Is there a good duster?

Anyone use a duster they really like and trust not to scratch the paint? If I let my car sit too long at a time, it gets a little dusty and I wish I had a duster. Car is black, so most everything shows. What works?

Oxo and California Dusters both make very good car finish dusters. They work their best after sitting on a newspaper for a couple of days, as they strands are coated with paraffin wax. Otherwise you will see some streaking especially on black paint.

Do you wash your Cali duster at all ? I haven't but I try to shake it out after each use then hit it with the air compressor about twice a month to blow out any particles that may be stuck in there.

That's a great suggestion. I just shake mine out after I use it, But had never thought to use compressed air on it. I'm pretty convinced that it has never scratched the car despite never being cleaned in any way, after 10 years of use. But I also only lightly drag the yarn over the surface - never scrub, of course, and never use with real road dirt. I think it's ok for pollen.

Just run the vacuum over it when you think it's too dirty.

Default Hate to keep promoting Zaino, but...

I used to get some streaking from my CA Duster when the car was waxed using waxes; even if it was just pollen or light dust from sitting in the garage. Once I went to the Zaino, the streaking is much less noticable. I'm going to try letting it (the Duster) sit on newspaper as somone suggested and see if that helps. Otherwise, the CA Duster works good on my black '95.

I've used Kozak clothes for 35 years on my cars and currently use one on my DSOM 0-6. The car is 4 months old and never been washed. The car is a daily driver and I wipe it down at least once a week. when the cloth get dirty (after about 50 dry washes) I use them for the tires and wheels. Only warning is have a wax or sealer to make the cloth slide easier and don't use under a hot sun.
