What's better than Z6 for a quick detail spray on a zaino'd finish?
I am consistently unimpressed by z6... doesn't clean the crap off the paint real well (a couple hits with it for some fingerprints) and it really doesn't add gloss, and it costs too much. I've used every amount from a little drip, to a full spray in a 1ft^2 area. I was using it on my dash, when i found water works just as well, and doesn't cost $10.00 What instant detailer should I use with Zaino? I had some Mother's that came with a claybar that seemed decent, what do you think?
Also, what's a good car wash? I'm running out of z7, and it's not nearly concentrated enough to jusify $8.99 for it.
ALso also, am I applying Zaino wrong? The car never feels slick to the touch, like it did with Wax. I'm going to claybar it again tonight, maybe that will help.

Smash, I don't understand how come you are having so many problems with Z6. I have good results with it. It darkens my color, adds that slick feel and adds some shine. Have you called Sal about your results?
I would try claying the car again if you are not getting that slick touch after a zaino treatment.

Z-7 costs $7.95, I use 2 capfuls per bucket of water and I was 3 cars for a year with 2 bottles of Z-7 Car Wash. I use to use 1 gallon of Zip Wash before Zaino and it cost me more than that. I use Z-6 after I wash the car and after I polish the car and there again I use about 3-4 bottles a year on 3 cars, I use it to keep the static down so the car does not pickup dust and dirt as quickly, that way I can use less car wash because the car does not get as dirty. My car are "smooth" after is wash them and slick after I Z-6 them, after working with carnauba for many years carnauba products lose their slickness after you wash them the first time, and that is true of most car care products. I have always used damp towels on my dash, I do not like the gloss look on my dash. I you start mixing different products you will take away from the shine that Zaino has given you, why don't you e-mail Sal at http://www.zainobros.com if you have questions.

I use 2 capfuls, and wash my car every other day. If the Zaino stuff is the best, I'll continue to use it, I don't want 2nd best for less!

Kale, why do you wash your car every other day? It does not get that dirty does it?

Kale, I use Z6 or Formula 113. The F113 looks awesome but doesn't last worth dookie. One wash and it's gone. The Z6 doesn't make as noticeable of a difference, so I can't tell if it's gone after a wash. I use Meguiar's car wash. It suds up nicely and is less expensive and easy to find. Good luck.

Z-6 will last about 1- 2 weeks by itself, I sell it to a few used car dealers that buy Z-6 and Z-7 because they more cars quickly and want their cars to look good for a short time, they want to spend as little time as they can to make their cars look good.

Not to "dis" Zaino, I use it, but since you're unimpressed, try Zymol car wash, the BLUE one, NOT their CLEAR "Auto Bathe". The Zymol BLUE car wash is incredible.
For a "quick" detailer, try Eagle One Wet "Wipe & Shine".
Again, I use Zaino exclusively, & like it, but trust me bro, if you don't like Zaino, the Zymol BLUE car wash and Eagle One will do it for you.
Let me know what you think if you try those products.

I have to agree, I'm not that impressed with Z6 either. I think it shines and cleans well but not enough to justify the cost. I heard on the forum of someone diluting it with water, I think I'll try that with the little Z6 I have left.
As for the Z7, I feel that's one of the best products. You use just a little amount, it suds up real nice and adds a little shine. Just my .02
I've noticed that my car only feels slick after I Z5 (or Z2) it until the next wash. But it is still slick otherwise my car cover wouldn't be so hard to put on!!! That doesn't really concern me so much.
Overall I've been very happy with the Zaino process but not all the products. I've settled on using Z1 (cause I have to for now) Z5 (I feel it works best) and Z7. The others ......just not so impressed, just my .02

The only time you want to thin Z-6 with distilled water is if your applying it on a hot day like at a car show, it slows the drying process.

If you are looking for a non-carnauba based quick detailer, you have several choices available : Mother's Showtime, Meguiar's Final Inspection, Wizard's Mist and Shine, Eagle One, etc.
Of those mentioned, the Eagle One is a respectable performer.
For a carnauba based QD, Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl is absolutely awesome. One Grand Show Off performs very well also. :yesnod:
In regard to car washes, Zymol Auto Wash (blue bottle) is excellent. :D

Just a note of interest. I z6'd half my car after I washed it (driver's side of the hood) and yesterday driving home I noticed about 5x more dust on the side that was NOT z6'd. Hmmn..

I also have had good luck with the Meguiars Gold Class car wash. I use the Z6 as my instant detailer and it works well IMHO.

I don't use it anymore....but Meguairs Final Touch detalier spray use to work good for me...and would remove heavily soiled areas...not that you should use it if it's that dirty anyway
Might want to check it out
