Default Pulled out the Rotary again... PICS..

So my mom has this White 1993 Town Car.. Huge car..

I promised her I'd detail it.. Well I got it home and realized there was ZERO shine to any paint surface..

I also realize the PC aint gonna touch this..

So I break out the Hitachi Rotary with an Orange PAd.. I used only Menzerna IP... After that I put a coat of Z2.. I am always amazed how IP can bring a shine to dull paint..

Also I have a trick I use on really bad paint.. When the IP starts to dry.. I turn the rotary on more of an angle and dry buff it till the surface is clean and does not even need to be wiped.. I'd NEVER do this on good paint or I'd end up with swirls..

Before

After

I think she look presentable now..

Yeah, that was a good sale. Amazing what a good paint treatment does to the value of a car.

Hey very nice - and it's tough to make white really show off like that.
Have you tried the PC on the headlamp plastics?
Charles over at http://paintcare-n-detailing.com/ has some nice pictures of his results revitalizing these, using regular paint polishes (like MIP) and a PC. I haven't tried it myself - wondering if you've done it.

Wassup Bugman.. Yep I actually DID use the PC on my Daily Driver Headlamps...Worked AWESOME! like brand new..I used the Orange pad with MIP..

I'll post some shots of her in a new thread...

I did not do it on the Lincoln because there is accident damage to the headlight on the driverside... I figure the repair will get 2 good lenses. if not... Break out the PC!!

I discovered this by accident after leaving my 3rd brake light unmasked recently. Too bad the front lamps aren't flush, or I'd have hit those also.

Hey thanks for the info--- nice to know it worked.
I have to file that one away and try it myself when the need arises.

Are those glass or plastic lenses you've worked with the PC?

yes, what I've been told is that the PC and usual paint polishes will work quite well on plastic lenses.

For glass, if you have water spots etc, what works great by hand or machine is DP Glass Restorer. See my web page under "SCRTCH/SPOT" for some before / after pics on a badly water stained rear window. They sell the stuff at THE GEEK - believe me it works. Lots of work by hand but will get the job done
