Default Got a Meguiar's Orbital Buffer

Must have been a good boy.
Got a Meguiar's Orbital Buffer for Christmas.
With these pads, a softbuff polishing pad and a softbuff finishing pad.

I use NXT and the car is very shiney now.
It's a 99 but you would think it's a new paint job.

What would be anyones advice on the use of the polisher.

I am thinking, just use the finishing pad but with what product ?

Thanks to all for the advice.

Finishing pads should be use with polishes, sealants, glazes and such.
Not to be used with compounds, or abraisive chemicals.

Also finishing pads will not do anything for removing scratchs and swirls.

There are lots of great polishes out there that will take your finish to the next level with your orbital.

My personal favorites come from Menzerna.

some more information please:
what is your goal in using the polisher?
  • easier application of wax?
  • removal of swirlmarks?
  • removal of deep scratches?

you really won't have any advantage of applying NXT with a buffer - it's easier and faster to do by hand. Likewise for removal of NXT or other sealants. Your finishing pad will be very helpful for applying #26 very quickly and with little effort.

If you really have some swirls or scratches, you'll have to get a light cutting pad and some abrasive polish like Menzerna Intensive Polish. All depends what your current paint condition is, and what your goals are.

My paint is in really great shape. No swirlmarks or deep scratches.
It's Nassau Blue.

My goal is a deeper shine. I was hopeing the buffer would make it easy.

( What is number 26)

Thanks for the replies.

Default What is #26

#26 is Meguires carnuba pure wax. Has fairly go durability. Use Megs #7 to polish and #7 for protection. Carnubas are great for a garaged car. Great shine from carnubas. If the car is a daily driver I would use a sealant like Zaino or Rejex.
