Zaino advice on my C5?

Zaino Advise
First wash the car with Dawn soap
Clay bar the finish and wash again
Apply Z5 then
Apply Z2 finally
Apply Z6 or 8
You can apply Z6 or Z8 between coats of Z5 and Z2.

Here is what I do on my Machine Silver 2004 Z06. I have a friend that has a 2004 Machine Silver Coupe and his car is noticably darker than my car ... We suspect its the Zaino really brightening up the silver.

1.) Wash or dust off the car. Only use a household dish detergent if you want to strip all the wax off the car ! Use automobile washes if you don't want to strip off the old polish.
2.) Z-5 PRO Show Car Polish for Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches. Use this for as long as it takes to remove the fine scratches. Its not required once fine scratches are gone.
3.) Z-2 PRO Show Car Polish for Clear Coated Car Finishes. Use this every time you wax the car.
4.) Z-8 Grand Finale Spray Seal. Use this after every application of the above products. Also use this in between polish jobs to retain gloss look. I spray this on a small micro fiber sponge, and rub it on a small area of my paint, then quickly dry it off with a micro fiber towel.
If you use the Z5 or Z2 inside your dry garage its ok to leave it on over night. Sometimes I put a coat of Z2 on Friday night, and remove it Saturday night. Be sure NOT to do this in direct sunlight though.
Its all very easy to apply and take off (compared to the 1000 other products I have tried). The shine is second to none that I have seen so far.
I have not used the clay bar.... I'm not sure what advanage it will give me on my Silver car... Anyone ?
Hope this helps....

You might want to go to the Car Care Section, there is a wealth of information there.

The clay bar takes off crap you can't even see until it's gone! The dif is incredible, especially on older cars!

This is pretty much the order I do it in. I skip the Dawn if I'm claying or using an abrasive and use only Z6 between coats. I save the Z8 as the "cherry on top".

It HAS gotten simpler. Zaino has new products. The key remains in surface prep and the lessons carry over to other systems. A clean paint surface really is important. If you visit the Zaino Web site, they have introduced ZAIO (All in one) and it is a superb product for any car and very fast and easy. A simple topping with the new CS is all that is needed after ZAIO. Many of us use Z5 or Z2 after ZAIO for some extra zing, but I use ZAIO and CS on my White Denali and it really zings. Simple and fast. On my Torch Red Corvette, I add a layer of Z5 prior to the CS. Z5 seems to really snap out the red so I stick with it. Once the car is prepped, working with Zaino - or any other final topping - really is fast and easy.
