Polished Aluminum wheels are DULL.. Help
My Polished Aluminum wheels on my 00 vert seem to be quite dull in spots. Can these be safely polished without affecting the clear coat on them? I have used a name brand spray wheel cleaner and when rinsing them off they gleam wet but then dry dull. Can I use a clay bar on them?
Thanks,

not really, the only fix for them is to strip the clear coat, then polish them and have them recleared if you wanted. theres some writeups on this topic somewhere, just use the search function.

You may have damaged them depending on what spray cleaner you used. Some of the "name brand" cleaners are acid based.
Pull a wheel and give it a good washing and polishing/sealing and see what you think. I do mine once/year and they look great.
I have used ZPC polish, then Z5 for a sealant.

OEM polished wheels are clearcoated and must be treated like paint. You can use a paint polish on them to help a bit. Then use a good wheel sealant like our DP Wheel Glaze or Poorboys Wheel Sealant to protect them. Best part, they will then clean up with car soap and water.
