Yep, another Zaino product thread. Simpler is sometimes better..
My friend bought another friends car. It was basically clean, but needed some TLC and lots of tar/gunk removal.
It's a 2001 C5 in a Pewter color. Lots of metallic in the paint.
We did a simple clean up on Sunday:
1) Wash with car soap and clean tar/gunk from around wheel openings with acetone.
2) Zaino all in one - buff after 30 minutes
3) Zaino Z-2 - buff after 45 minutes.
By the way, the buffer was an old craftsman 10" buffer with terry pad.
I was amazed at the results. This is a 9 year old car and the pictures were taken in late afternoon shade.

A few comments.
The angle/lighting is difficult to really see the potential flaws in the car.
That color is probably the most forgiving.
You make an excellent point though. Much of the insanity that goes on here (myself included) is not needed. For the vast majority of people/cars this more than suffices.
Looks good.

I really wanted to buy it myself for about 2 years. My friend was not ready to sell, so I got an A/O 09 coupe.
One year later, his new wife urged him to sell, and another buddy of mine got it. Nice car, nice price and about 15K on it. I'm still kind of jealous.
