2020 C5 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Here's some before and after pics of my new-to-me 2000 convertible in DBGM. There was a lot of hidden swirls and marring underneath a heavy layering of a certain wonder-polish that is highly touted on Youtube advertising. Many small nicks and chips from the hood and nose area. The worst part was trying to capture them on "film" as the dark color would not easily reveal the problems. This was a project that was going to be a nice test of my abilities!--
The green is pretty, but marred significantly. The surface was washed and clayed, next to polish...
correction was done with The Last Cut Compound Glaze, Optimum Hyper Compound, and Hyper Polish. Microfiber pads, followed by orange and then black polishing pads on a Flex VR3401 DA polisher.
Some scratches required a bit of wet sanding; the marring and swirling seen here on the trunk was evident across the entire car, very hard to capture on film with the shifting green metallic color
This was done in the spring, and I was battling pollen layering during the process!
The 19 yr old clearcoat responded very well to the correction!
I had to move the car during the final polishing, so I unfortunately could not get the same light placement. I hope the reflection speaks for the finished product
Finished the project with a ceramic coating of Optimum Gloss Coat.
I now know what my Vette would look like with louvers!
Trying to get a picture while avoiding the pollen!
I am very glad that the almost 20yr old finish still shines up so much!
Thanks for looking!

MVCrash,
Can a junior member post pics? If so, how do you post a pic inside the message like others on here? And, how do i have my Vette picture in my profile show up on the left like my icon is?

NoviStretch Presents Corvette Forum's Cleanest Cars
Nothing's more effective at showing your Corvette pride than a clean car. Extremely clean, freshly detailed Corvettes are dead-sexy. When a Corvette is surgically clean, there is nothing -- not even a speck of dust -- between your eyeballs and those seductive lines, and that's hot.

In 1996 there was only 110 LT1 convertibles built with this color combination. I use 3 different kinds of polish before each show. One on top of the hood and decklid, one above the side molding and one below the side molding.
I am hoping that Novistretch will produce a bumper mask for it.
