Default Racer (lazy waxer) with a BETTER tip for exhaust tips!

No racing this weekend, so FINALLY after 10 yrs I attempted to clean up my exhaust tips & exhaust plate...!

I've been viewing all the threads, and there ARE some good tips, but I think I found the BEST & EASIEST way yet to finally clean ALL the carbon off your stainless steel exhaust tips.....

1st off, there is NO, and I repeat NO rubbing at all..
No pressure, no elbow grease needed..
Just spray & wipe off.. Its that simple....

GONE are all the rubbing, steel wool, drills w/ rogue...cooktop cleaners, which by the way, did NOT work for me...brake cleaners or carb cleaners which IF they get on your paint, forget it...
Just forget it all....

If you want your exhaust tips to be clean, shiny, & sparkle, just
use EASY OFF oven cleaner.. Literally spray on the inside of your tips, wait 10 seconds or more, and wipe off with a paper towel or a damp sponge..

Its that easy....
You will see the carbon foaming up after 2 seconds...
Don't believe me?
Try these pics..
No need for before pics because we all know what dirty sooty carbonized exhaust tips look like.

These are 10 yrs old, NEVER cleaned before, on a car thats tuned slightly rich because I race it often...
(the discoloration on the fascia is NOT from the EASY OFF, its from 10 yrs of exhaust fumes/heat/no cleaning)

LOOK AT THIS BELOW! My 10 yr old exhaust plate which was nasty beyond nasty
and also never cleaned!
Looks 100% new! UNREAL!!! That diamond grid is NOT in the plate,
its a REFLECTION of the Race Deck Flooring!!!
The plate is flat & smooth!

Don't anyone even begin to tell me another product is better, easier or faster.
EASY OFF is "literally" spray on, & wipe off!!!!!
EASY OFF is MADE to clean stainless steel oven grates, so its NOT going to harm stainless exhaust pipes!

Hope this will help anyone who has been struggling to get their exhaust clean, and keep you from buying a multitude of products that just don't work, or require EFFORT, etc..

Let me know if any of you try this & the results..!
After seeing these GREAT results now my wife says all I gotta do is get the rubber off the
rear quarter panels..

Well, forget that, that ain't happening!

Simichrome is old school & good stuff but will not remove yrs & yrs of baked on soot & carbon..

Prior to using the EASY OFF, I've tried most everything to no avail, thats why I never bothered trying anymore..

This weekend was the first time in about 9 yrs I even attempted to have at them!

Also, with Simichrome, Wenol etc, you have to rub, and rub, and rub...
Did I say rub? Also rub with pressure too.. Lots of it...

With EASY OFF, its like that jewelery commercial for Tarnex, where they dip in a tarnished spoon or coin & the tarnish disappears..
Same thing here,,, spray on EASY OFF, and in seconds it foams up and you just wipe away all the junk to reveal sparkling glowing stainless!

I'm telling you, it was so exciting to watch & finally find something that works, and works EASY!

After you used the Easy Off to get your tips clean did you apply any wax for a protective coating?
I know that Simichrome leaves a film on the surface of the area you polished.
That makes clean up easy the next time your tips get dirty.

I have mentioned Easy Off here before but I'm not sure anyone agreed. It works great for removing heavy carbon deposits. My cars usually don't get that bad but some of the cars I detail are in rough shape. I usually follow it up with Mother's Stainless/Chrome polish and a finish coat of Zaino. Just don't let the Easy Off sit too long and keep it off the paint

Since your using things around the house, here's one to keep the wife happy with the rubber on rear. Consider a light coat of cooking oil or wd-40. Right after the heavy racing just take a damp towel or one with a little detail spray and wipe it right off and watch the rubber slip off ...

I use mostly Semichrome and Wenol. Also use the Mother's foam ball on my drill.
