Default Polishing exhaust tips C6

Will I screw up a clear coat if I polish my stock C6 exhaust tips with a polishing wheel? What is the best thing to use to get these to shine? And to keep them shining? Thanks!

Use Simichrome polish.

Best polish on the planet and Wolfdogs approved.

The tips are not clearcoated to my knowledge, unless recent. I still find it easiest and best looking to use the metal polish that matches the type of tip (ie. chrome polish for chrome , aluminum polish for aluminum) and quad zero steel or brass wool. I currently use Flitz on my Corsa's.

the factory tips are not clear coated; they're polished stainless steel. Any stainless polish will work...I used Mother's. But the REALLY important thing to do after you polish them is to REJEX them! Before I knew about Rejex, I had to polish the tips every weekend. Now all I have to do is simply wipe them off with an old dry washcloth. Rejex was originally formulated for high heat turbine aircraft exhaust stains on aircraft sheet metal. Now I only have to re-polish the tips about every six months. The NPP tips on my car look like chrome - much better than when it was first delivered to the museum when I picked it up.

ps...I'm going to try that easy off oven cleaner for the inside of my tips...the traditional cleaners are white and powdery and it gets trapped inside the interior of the tips.

I got mine from AutoGeek. Rejex distributing isn't the best at retail locations (over the counter). Some Ace Hardware stores carry it; some boating stores; some Airport FBO's carry it...ya never know. But for sure, AutoGeek has it and so does Rejex.com
