Black interior turns white-ish (C6)???
I find that my black interior tends to develop this white-ish film.
Anyone else have this issue?
How to resolve it? It improves somewhat with an interior detailing but returns relatively quickly even if the car isnt exposed to any elements (while sitting in the garage)...

The interior plastic and vinyl used in the Vette and some other GM products does take on a milky appearance over time especially when not kept up. Moisture also seems to effect it.
I have found that cleaning with a damp towel and some APC works well to prep the surface. I then use Ultimas Interior Sealant which actually seals the interior and also slows the outgassing and foggy appearance on glass. The finish comes out fresh and new looking, no heavy gloss although it looks wet when you first apply it.

There have been many posts on this and a SEARCH will help you.
But, to be short and sweet, wipe down with a dark towel with distilled water (you don't want mineral residue from regular water). Dry with dark towel.
Next use Protectant 303 and apply with a dark towel, and you can buy it on Amazon. This is by far the best to use. I was always hesitant to use anything and when I finally did...I was really impressed. No oily residue, just a very slight satin finish...the way it should have come from the factory.
Just take your time on the dash, it will get on the windshield, so it's a game of wiping and cleaning.
I've had mine on for over 2 years and only occassionally have I had to touch up a spot and it's aiways by the door handle.
My car has won 16 trophies and I know that it has to do in part by using Protectant 303 for the interior!

I'll add another vote for the 303... fantastic stuff for the C6 dash and door panels. It's kept the milky appearance completely at bay with only very minor touch-ups.
I've also found that I have the best luck applying it with those circular terry-cloth wax applicators. Seems to reduce the streaks that I get when using folded towels to apply it.

We offer 303 Protectant also, and guarantee the best pricing. Let us know if you find it cheaper.

Another vote for 303 -- it really helps older and/or neglected interior pieces look like new. You will not be disappointed! Embarrassingly easy to use.

I haven't faced that problem. I use Meguiars interior cleaner on the vinyl and follow up with Meguiars rubber and vinyl treatment. I buff a bit to keep down the shine. I also understand that Blackfire had a good interior cleaner and a vinyl treatment.

It's a shame that we spend our hard earned dollar and have to put up with this crap. sure, some of us don't mind and live with it. you go and to sell the car and you tell the buyer buy a can of this because the interior turns white. real turn off.

Did a Google search, Lexus, Mazda, dodge just to name a few are having the same problem. These interiors are probably made of the same garbage in the same factory
