prep mitt vs clay bar
Dropped my clay bar last time I detailed. It was about time for a new one anyways. So now I'm debating on the whether to go with another clay bar or the newer paint prep mitts. Anyone using the paint prep mitts and if so how do they compare to the clay bar?
Thanks, Tefer

You now have clay blocks, clay mitts, and clay bars. The traditional clay is still the most used and often pretty cost effective. I like the tactile feel that traditional clay offers as I can easily tell areas that need additional help and those that don't.
The challenge to the towels is likely cost upfront. They last far longer than any other option and great in professional settings. I think you lose a little of the feel, but they often make the chore quite a bit quicker.
No wrong choice ...

I have tried a few different products in place of the traditional bar. The only one I liked was the auto scrub pad that fits on my Porter Cable. It was just ok. Back to the clay bar for me. It is not that much more labor and you get a better feel to what you are doing.

I have only used the typical clay bar and the mild version of the nano mit. I prefer the clay bar on my TR Grand sport and both on my white and silver vehicles. If I was only able to have one, I would opt for the traditional clay bar.
