Default Dusters

How is it that I have three cars sitting in my garage, two daily drivers and my 2017 GS and the two daily drivers have zero to no dust but the vette is covered with super fine dust? Are the plastic body panels more apt to attract dust?

Anyway do the "California Dusters" or similar actually work or do they just push the dust around? The reviews on Amazon seem to be either a 5 star or a 1 star.

They work. I have one for each car, an extra large one for the big suv, and a small dash one in the vette. But follow the break in instructions. I only have California Duster, but reviews said they were the best.

Be very careful with dusters. If used aggressively you can put serious holograms in the paint. Gently drag the duster not exerting any pressure for the best results. Always shake out before any use.

When used correctly, I firmly believe they do less damage than any other method to remove light dust. Just let the tips of the strands touch the car, the dust will "jump" onto them, rather than actually "brushing" the car.

I echo post 4.

I have used Dusters on black paint for decades.
Light touch, one direction.

Good luck.

I don't trust dusters, I prefer to leave dust on the car until I can do a rinseless wash.

Been using the California Duster since 2004. They do not leave any scratches IF you BARELY let the strands of the duster touch the paint.

I have used the same California Duster since 2008 on my C6 and now on my C7 it works fine. Just gently pass over the panels and all is good.

In my opinion, some products like "rinseless wash" attracted a lot of

dust on my ATS. Now that I'm back to normal washing, things are

looking better? Corvette is still parked waiting for crater repair in NYS.

That's interesting. Perhaps static build up because the body panels are not metal?

By drenching the car with a hose perhaps that's grounding out the static.

don't know which ''rinseless wash'' you are using but the two i've tried had the opposite result .....less dust accumulation . . . peace

Living in a dry, dusty environment, I've been using the Cal Duster on my 98 since 98.
I think I've been through 3 or 4 of them.

The finish still looks like new.
The key is to keep up the protection (wax, zaino, etc.) so the dust glides off, rather than sticks.

I'm a zaino guy myself but I'm sure many other systems work great.
Not sure if it's hype, but zaino claims it has some anti-static ingredient in their detail spray (Z6). YMMV.

I just bought 2 new california dusters yesterday(small and large). I wrapped both in newspaper and today I noticed something very odd. The small one left the newspaper loaded with oil. The large one left no oil whatsoever. Anyone seen this before?
