GYEON Rim...Tips for first use?
Later this week, I'm embarking on changing out my brake pads on the GS for a fresh set of Carbotech 1521. I've had about all the constant dust this detail nut can take!
While the rims are off, I decided to try the GYEON Rim products I've read a bit about. Ordered a kit that included the PREP and IRON cleaners. The included instructions hit the basics of the procedure, but curious if anyone who's been through coating their rims with GYEON might have any tips, tricks, lessons learned, etc? To give some perspective I'm a seasoned 15+ year Zaino user, but this is my first foray into the newer more advanced coatings.
Aside from any tips, a couple questions...do I need to avoid getting the PREP/IRON sprays or the Coating itself on the tires? Don't want to stain/discolor them, if that makes sense.
Once complete, can regular quick detail sprays, such as Zaino Z6/Z8 be used on the rims between or after washes, or do those have an effect on the coating?

Biggest tip I can give is to get some foam applicators, cut 'em up and use for intricate places on wheel.
You'll enjoy the Gyeon Rim, makes cleaning wheels kinda a hose off, wipe down proposition. Coating my wheels and tires is the biggest time saver when washing as well as keeping brake dust down between washes.
Coated the chrome wheels on our C5 using Gyeon Rim (2 coats, barrels and faces) in July 2016 and still performing well. Car is a NE Ohio 'put it away from December thru April' thing but sees rain/daily use in the nice weather and Gyeon is still holding up well.
Used TuffShine Tire clearcoat on the tires so no longer any need for nasty wheel cleaning chems or slingin' tire dressings.
Definately wanna avoid getting the Gyeon Rim on tires but quick wipe away if ya do has no ill effects. Getting Prep/Iron on tires no big deal as you're gonna be cleaning the daylights outta them before applying the rim coating. Clean, Clean...and then clean again before application and you'll have no issues.
If you have painted, clearcoated wheels may wanna give 'em a little polish with something like M205 first; I used one of those conical Mothers foam things chucked in a drill to get to hard to reach areas of rim, rest polished by hand to help amp up the finish a bit as well as aid in some cleaning.
Like mentioned above, call Esoteric if any questions, great folks there.

I did not use the prep iron removal just dawn and warm water
Wash rinse wash rinse make sure you get all the nooks and crannies
Watch drying time like a hawk as you coat, dry, wipe
I've done new and used wheels and gyeon rim has done very well

You have a time frame to allow the coating to bond to the surface
After that you wipe off the excess - it doesn't ever look like much
But you will see the difference after you wipe down.
If you wait to long I find the coating can get slightly tacky so it doesn't
Layout as flat
