New easier clay bar
I recently read on the forum that there is something newer than the old fashion clay bar that is faster and easier. Can anyone help me out on this, or was I just dreaming?

Plenty of substitutes out there. Personally, I prefer clay. Better tactile feel...
Here is an example of one that was discussed here a few days ago.

I bought a super fine clay mitt that I will use on my C7 if needed once it arrives. But when I was in the showroom of my dealer, every 2018 that they had there had perfectly smooth paint, so I expect mine to be the same. If that's the case, I can't see the point of taking a chance that I might marr the finish. I'll save the mitt for a later time if I happen to get a lot of contamination on it (like I got on my C6 a few months ago when some roofers were working on a nearby building at my work and the wind must have blown some little bits of stuff onto the paint as it was very rough)

I use Nano Skin and find it to be more user friendly than clay. Works just as well to. At least on my garage kept car. I use the Xtra fine sponge too.

No alternative for old school clay for me. I like to see exactly what it is pulling off and feel the drag on the surface when using. It may take a little longer but it only takes about 45 min to properly clay a Corvette anyway.

I use clay and nano skin. In my opinion clay keeps you more in tune with the actual detailing process. I feel more engaged when using the clay. But I use nano skin also and get extremely similar results. Nano skin is safe, reusable, and appears quicker. Make sure you’re using lubricant or detail spray.
For what it’s worth I use Pinnacle clay bar along with Adams detail spray. I get great results with this combo

You might be thinking of Mother's Speed Clay 2.0, The only advantage with it is if you drop it on the ground you don't have to pitch it. You can just rinse it under water. If I drop clay on the ground I toss it.
