how do I remove the smell of vomit from a car?
long story short, had few too many shots at my sister's engagement party... conveniently my mother offered to drive me to and from the party...
and I threw up out the window of her new tahoe (while we were moving like 50 ish mph) quite a few times ... most of it went out the window... small amount on door panel, not sure if it went into the window area tho like the dew sweeps...
cleaned it multiple times with lysol all purpose cleaner, lysol wipes, baby wipes, and interior cleaner.
thinking I am going to have to take the door panel off to clean in there...

Pull the door panel and clean everything the best you can and then use the Dakota bomb. If you let it set in the sun with the top down or off it will help. You might also check with an environmental cleaning company to see what they may have.

You are going nowhere without a serious extractor, and I mean serious. You need to rent it at a Rental Shop that is specific to extracting crap from carpeting. The Grocery store stuff won't cut it.
In the extractor use carpet shampoo, and add a pantload of Fabreeze to the canister.. About 33% Fabreeze.
The extractor will pul the material from the carpet but you still have the acid that has infested itself into the carpet. Fabreeze will almost get rid of it. You might have to do it two to three times.
OR take it to a pro detailer that knows how to eliminate the odor.
As a Pro Detailer. I have access to commercial chemicals that eliminate odors. I have come across people that tried to get rid of the vomit and all they did was spread it out more.
I ended up having t use an Ozone machine to kill the odor.

Several years ago, I used vinegar on some sour milk that had spilled on the carpet of my Lincoln; it got rid of the odor and the vinegar smell disappeared in a few days.

I love this thread. Back in the day a girlfriend and I had been partying pretty hard and coming back from the club out of nowhere the vomit volcano erupted in my '64 Chevy SS. It took me weeks and weeks to finally get the smell out of that car. I finally replaced the carpet and pad. the seats were an OEM plastic material which cleaned up pretty well. Oh, did I mention we had a great spaghetti dinner earlier in the evening.

Take a dump in the back seat. You won't notice the smell of vomit.

I refer you to "Seinfeld", Season 4, Episode 21 entitled "The Smelly Car". This will provide you with the guidance you need. Good luck!
