I signed up to a few different email clubs and get sent offers quite often. Usually, about every three months, one of them will offer the 20% off and free shipping. That is the one that I bite on.

What's a good product to use on a black colored car? I've been using mother's products (can wax, claybar, and fast detailer) I wanna try out some new stuff?

At local parts store or internet purchase?

Really an endless debate.
Many like Adams, many like Zaino, many like all sorts of other brands available allover the 'net. Autogeek detail website has a forum and lots of answers.

FWIW
I like buying at the corner store.
Mother's is a good product.
Currently, I am using Meguires.
Mirror Glaze # 7 followed by Gold Class Carnauba paste wax.
(Many like to follow # 7 with # 26 Hi Tech Wax)
Then a detail spray to keep clean.
Plus for the best I can achieve another coat of # 7 over the wax, with that # 7 top coat only lasting for a day.

But....it still doesn't "pop".
The paint is smooth, clean, shiny and gets nice comments from the public.
Yet, just doesn't make me personally say wow.

So, to answer the question, I just don't know.

(P.S. With a black car the paint truly looks good for only 15 minutes, which is the time before the dust settles...haha. Black painted cars are a hobby...oh yea)

I too am open to suggestions for the wow factor.

Coatings?
Sealants?
waxes?

Equipment? Skill level? Patience?

This. Soooo many variables. Besides, getting your car's finish in great shape is really 90% technique and 10% product choice. Sure, some products will make the job go faster and easier, but it doesn't matter if you don't apply them properly.

My uncle had an old black pickup truck with a flawless finish that you could use as a mirror. Not a swirl mark or hazy spot to be found. And he only used old-school Turtle Wax polishes and waxes. Old rotary with a wool pad, some crappy cotton polishing cloths, and hand-applied the wax with some kind of old sponge. LMAO

I never see it mentioned on here. I've used Glare products for about 5 years now on my black. Is it the best?, who knows, but it lasts me about a year between paint corrections and usually maintained with Adam's H20 and Ceramic Boost and Kenotek. I'll probably never apply polishes... by hand anymore since I bought an orbital. Still haven't jumped into the ceramic coating pond yet. I know it's the way to go but I'm usually so burnt out by the time I'm done paint correcting. It sucks getting older!

This is after polishing in two stages with Menzerna and topped with WG Fusion. Carbon Flash paint.

Do you find that the fusion brings out the metallic in the carbon flash?

Yes, it does . It's super easy on/off too. Expensive but it goes along ways and you can try the smaller size container to see if you like it.

Quick update. Really liking the kenotech showroom shine. This and my pinnacle crystal mist are my 1a and 1b for quick detailers.

I'll never buy another brand of detail spray after getting Kenotek. It's by far the easiest to wipe off.

No Corvette owner should be without one of these. Stoner makes great car care products, and this tool makes it a breeze to clean the raked windshield and the FRC rear glass. I forgot how much I loved this thing until I used it this weekend.

Glad you reminded me. I have a couple in the garage and haven't used them in a while. Great tool that allows you to get at those hard to reach areas dwon low, near the dash. I will use it today.

I was applying some protectant to my dash, and smeared some on the windshield directly above and in front of the HUD bezel. There is like ZERO room to get a microfiber towel in there with my hand. I was able to squeeze the Stoner tool in there and wipe it all clean. This thing is great!

I have had great luck so far on my black 86 with Poorboys black hole glaze followed by Adams butter wax. Gives a very wet look and does have some filling/hiding capabilities if your paints not perfect.

I am a very proud user of Chadwicks Triple Play for every day, I did use the paint correction system first and that was amazing. I have not washed my vette with car wash and water in over two years. the Triple play works great on glass and chrome. Also on computer screens, bathroom mirrors and TV's.
