best car wax

The key to a great shine is the surface prep not the wax, always do your paint correction first. The wax only protects what it is applied over. Many here are going to the ceramics for durability and they attract less dust. You will get many recommendations here on what the best anything is. Do your homework and then evaluate your efforts.

Adam's now has a Ceramic Wax lol, I am not sure how it quite does though.

I've always used Meguiars or Mothers wax on my Harleys and now Mequiars on my Vette.
I think the competition among manufacturers is so fierce, that their isn't that much difference between brands when you deal at the upper end of their product line.
I used Armor All Ultra Shine and was very impressed with the shine with a wash and wax product.

Interesting question and first post. Unfortunately the OP hasn't logged back in since he posed the question.

I put a couple coats of mothers California gold carnauba paste wax on my victory red C6 Z06 and its very glossy. All by hand. Don't care for Mequires products. Use mostly Mothers stuff. Everyone has a personal preference. One thing you don't need to do is spend 100 bucks on a good wax.

They all work well for shine.
My preference it true carnauba paste over liquids or synthetics.
Its all in the prep work.
OP doesn't define best...maybe longest lasting is a concern.
In this case synthetics may be best.
Have fun.

Well, you obviously want a very clean and defect-free finish before applying a wax, sealant, or coating. Clean the paint, decontaminate it (clay bar, iron remover), and remove any swirls or scuffs via compounding and/or polishing, Prepping the paint is what makes it shine. Wax is just a sacrificial protective topping.
