Not sure if this is where I should post. Have a 3 car garage built in 2001. Time to coat the floor. I put it off for too long. Have a steel wheel engine crane and steel wheel floor jacks. What coating did you guys use. I only want to do it once and correct. looking at Ucoat it.

I used garagefloorcoating.com back in 2011on my 2 stall built in 58. So far, I'm very satisfied. I use my steel wheel floor jack all the time with no damage. I made the mistake of putting the car on floor jacks that are made from angle iron. It put gouges into the surface but other than that the floor has held up very well. It's not cheap but well worth it IMHO. You'll need a floor squeegee for when it gets wet. Much better product than home center coatings.

I used a company that provides epoxy coatings called Stronghold Floors https://www.strongholdfloors.com/. You'll have to find a similar company in your area. I am absolutely thrilled with the results.

I applied Epoxy-Coat with a heavy flake on the floor of my working garage in 2012 and it has held up well to steel-wheeled floor jacks, jack stands, grinding sparks, machine grit and other abuse. The only issue I've had is having to touch up a few localized areas where the epoxy lifted under tires that sat in one place for longer periods of time.

I love racedeck, if I was doing mine right now that is what I'd be buying.

If DYI the most important part is cleaning the floor, especially if it is not new concrete.Automobile tires have paraffin wax like substance that will imbed its self in the pours concrete. If the wax is not completely removed the coating will release in a year or so. It is extremely important to clean the floor with muriatic acid several times on an old concrete folly and rinse completely. Let dry for several days and then you are ready to fill expansion joints and cracks. Now you are ready to apply the coating. The floor must be clean and free of paraffin wax, oil, paint or any other material on the surface of the floor.

had epoxy done a couple years ago , $6.50 sq/ft x 800 square feet . it's nice where two vettes sit but where wifes daily driver sits it has some flaws imbedded in it from stuff tires picked up . i'd tile if i did floor again .... peace

Racedeck or just acid clean/stain/seal the concrete. Tile, epoxys etc are $$$$ and all fail in time. Spend the money on car parts

FYI, I helped my friend install Garagetrac last weekend, which is made by Racedeck and looks just like the diamondplate racedeck tiles... and they are extremely high quality but more of an affordable version of garage tile. During installing and after installing, you couldn't tell that it was the more affordable version of Racedeck in any way. Plastic is the same, I believe the only difference is in the bottom channel of the tile (although the Garagetrac is very good the way it is).

All in all, this is what I would do for mine for the price- $2.11 a square foot. Racedeck is $3.79 a tile.
